3 Welcome and Introductions Agenda and January Officer s Report NFP CAB Update A) Meeting called to order at 8:10 a.m. by Dr. Moynihan A) January 2015 minutes were reviewed. Bonita Mallory motioned for approval of minutes with second by Elaine Ellers. Ayes (11) Nays (0) Presented by Dr. Kasirye: Submitted budget along with a growth request. Growth request was targeted toward communicable disease. Ebola Had 2 cases to rule out. Coordinated with CDPH, CDC, Kaiser and UCD. Both cases were negative. Continuing to monitor travelers from identified areas in Africa. During the holidays, 15 travelers were identified who required monitoring. For health care workers who have traveled to one of the designated areas in Africa, the County is required to conduct a home visit with face to face contact. The County requested two additional nurse positions to assist with Ebola surveillance. Requested PHN positions to re-establish field nursing. News release this morning regarding another TB exposure in an elementary and high school. Two students from the same family were exposed from contact with a family member with TB. Will be conducting testing at both school sites. Dr. Kasirye talked with staff yesterday and letters went out to parents last night. Presented by Sheila Holcomb, CAB Chair: NFP has 185 clients and will be bringing on a new nurse. Data for the NFP National Study has been submitted and the preliminary report will be available in a couple of years. Sally Shaw, the NFP manager is retiring in April after 33 years of service with the County of Sacramento. Retirement luncheon will be held on 4/30/15. NFP graduation will be on May 16, Invitations will be sent to the Board.

4 Human Services Coordinating Council Presented by Dr. Addie Ellis: Dr. Addie Ellis is the chair of the Human Services Coordinating Council (HSCC) HSCC consist of 22 members drawn from the following Advisory Boards and Commissions: Alcohol and Drugs; Mental Health; ; Adult and Aging; Disability Advisory, Children s Coalition and 4 community member seats. Currently there are 16 members and 6 vacancies. The council serves as an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors on matters relating to health and human services planning and policy issues. The council meets quarterly with the Chiefs of Staff. The HSCC works to ensure that human service elements are incorporated in all county planning and development. Sacramento Perinatal Mental Health Network MCAH Needs Assessment Presented by Catherine O Brien & Dr. Mikacich: Presented on A Mothers Heart program which provides screening and support to pregnant/ parenting women experiencing depression and are Sutter patients. Will establish a Warm Line/Support Line. Also a website: Wellspace provides a 24/7 hotline at (916) Starting screening at OB/GYN and Pediatrician offices that are part of the Sutter system. Presented by Staci Syas: Staci Syas reviewed the draft MCAH Action Plan with the Board. Staci indicated that we may be able to address the STD recommendations contingent upon the STD program receiving grant funding. Staci will send the final draft to the Board which will be reviewed at the May MCAH Advisory Board meeting.

5 Update from Steering Committee on Reduction of African American Child Deaths Presented by Kindra Montgomery-Block: Steering Committee will present their Strategic Plan on 4/7/15 at 2 p.m. at the County of Sacramento Board Chambers. Everyone is invited to attend. Action plan will include: Advocacy and Policy; Equitable Investment & Systemic Impact; Coordinated Systems of Support; and Data-Driven Accountability/Collective Impact. Also recommending the development of an Interagency Children Planning Council. Report will be available on-line. MCAH Bylaws Board agreed to request a representative from DHHS/ CPS to be a non-voting representative to the board in accordance with the Bylaws.
