1 JOIN THE MOVEMENT MS STOPS PEOPLE FROM MOVING. WE EXIST TO MAKE SURE IT DOESN T. Mutipe scerosis interrupts the fow of information from the brain to the body and stops peope from moving. Every hour in the United States someone is newy diagnosed with MS, an unpredictabe, often disabing disease of the centra nervous system. Symptoms range from numbness and tinging to bindness and paraysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us coser to a word free of MS. The Nationa Mutipe Scerosis Society mobiizes peope and resources to drive research for a cure and addresses the chaenges of everyone affected by MS. We fund cutting edge research, drive change through advocacy, faciitate professiona education, coaborate with MS organizations around the word and provide programs and services designed to hep peope with MS and their famiies move forward. The MS Society is dedicated to achieving a word free of MS. We are peope who want to do something about MS now. MS facts MS is the No. 1 disabing disease among young aduts in the U.S. The average annua cost of iving with MS exceeds $57,000 per person with ifetime costs of more than $3.7 miion. Most peope with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, athough chidren as young as 2 are now being diagnosed. Twice as many women than men have MS. MS affects more than 400,000 peope in the U.S. and 2.5 miion wordwide. About the Minnesota Chapter We serve neary 10,000 peope with MS and their famiies in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. We provided information and referra services to more than 5,000 peope with MS ast year. We trained more than 1,350 heath care professionas about MS ast year. We provided more than $430,000 in Independent Living Grants to hep peope with MS address the unpredictabiity of the disease and emergency financia assistance to steer famiies out of crisis. We meet a the standards of the Minnesota Charity Review Counci.

5 Great exposure Team Viage Commit to raising at east $25,000 for the MS Society and your team wi have a tent, tabes and chairs reserved just for you at the hafway point (the more money raised, the arger the tent). This vauabe space in the Team Viage offers your company a pace to congregate and have fun. And, it s one more way to gain exposure for your company during the weekend. Outfit your team Make a statement during Bike MS by sending hundreds of peope on the route with your company name on their cycing jersey. These mini-biboards worn by your team members on the ride and around town after the ride generate asting impressions to thousands of peope.

6 Join the movement Sponsor an event or program Provide a cash donation to underwrite the expenses of the event. Provide an in-kind product, such as food, suppies, vehices, printing or media time, or in-kind service, such as truck drivers, medica personne or bike shop mechanics. Whatever your business does, we most ikey have a pace for you at a program or event. By sponsoring an event with a donation, you can hep us keep our expenses ow so that more money raised goes to support our mission. 7 Join Bike MS Bike MS is Minnesota s premier two-day, 150-mie, non-competitive and fuy-supported cycing adventure that chaenges riders of a eves and abiities. Beginning with deuxe motor coach transportation to Proctor near Duuth, the MS 150 has been referred to as the Cadiac of bike rides and is aso one of the argest and most respected rides in Minnesota. Participants enjoy 10 stops hosted by corporate partners as they peda south to the Twin Cities with an overnight at Grand Casino Hinckey. The Hafway Show, hosted by KS95, features team competitions that pu out a the stops. In 2009 more than 3,100 cycists raised $2.6 miion to hep end MS Demographic of a 2009 MS 150 cycist: Median age: 39 Under age 25: 10 percent Age 25 to 54: 76 percent 55 years and oder: 14 percent 60 percent of riders are mae 84 percent ive in the Twin Cities metro area 79 percent earn yeary saaries of more than $50, percent are coege educated Word on the bike path 95 percent are ikey to ride again in 2010 Sponsoring the MS 150 Ride provides our firm with a unique opportunity to unite our empoyees, cients, friends and famiies behind a great cause: supporting the effort to find a cure for MS. It has been an amazing experience to see so many peope individuas, teams, companies, vounteers working together as one to hep change ives. The shared experience is the essence of teamwork something that every organization desires to achieve. And of course, biking 150 mies with someone creates a unique bond that is difficut to repicate. Peter Coye, Larkin Hoffman, President Donadson Company first formed their Bike MS team in 2002 and became an officia sponsor in In 2006, Bi Cook aunched the CEO Chaenge. This event invites executives in the Twin Cities to participate in the ride. I respect that every CEO has other worthy nonprofit organizations that they are invoved in, Cook said. But, as a rider for the past four years, I can vouch for this being a great organization. For Donadson, this is a wonderfu empoyee event. Our riders and vounteers have a ot of fun, and they are motivated to hep a of those in our community who ive with the effects of MS. It is an honor to be a part of this wonderfu cause. 8 Additiona events and programs Throughout the year, the Nationa MS Society hosts a number of fundraising events and cient programs. A samping is isted beow. Bike MS events The Minnesota Chapter boasts three fabuous Bike MS events each year incuding Aianz Twin Cities Ride in May, MS 150 Ride in June and The Ride Across Minnesota in Juy. Each ride is fuy supported. Last year, the three Bike MS events registered a combined 6,000 cycists and raised more than $3.5 miion. More than 2,000 vounteers are needed to support the cycing events and more than 350 teams join the movement each year. Wak MS events Each year, companies, friends and famiies come together to raise $2 miion ocay through Wak MS events. Participants join the movement because they are committed to a word free of MS and because they enjoy waking. Many peope who have MS are introduced to the Nationa MS Society by participating in a Wak MS event. The Minnesota Chapter wi host events in 17 cities on May 2, incuding the Twin Cities, Aexandria, Bemidji, Brainerd, Chishom, Duuth, Fairmont, Faribaut, Fergus Fas, Grand Rapids, Hastings, Hudson, Wis., Mankato, Marsha, Rochester, St. Coud and Wimar. Chaenge Wak MS: Twin Cities is hed in September and is a 50-mie, three day event or 30-mie, two day event in which neary 300 peope wak on a beautifu urban route throughout the Twin Cities. Youth programs The chapter s youth programs have become a vita ink supporting hundreds of youth who are affected by MS. Today, these programs incude a weekong Youth Camp for kids age 9 to 17 who have a parent or cose reative with MS, a Wak MS youth team, a Teen Crew that supports Chaenge Wak MS: Twin Cities, MS Awareness Week activities at schoos and a Teen Counci that pans a number of socia events and service projects. The chapter aso supports a schoarship program for students who have MS or have a parent with MS. In 2009, 52 students were awarded schoarships. On the Move Luncheon On the Move is a benefit uncheon with an inspirationa speaker hosted by men and women who are dedicated to ending MS. Companies purchase tabes and hosts invite friends, coeagues or associates to be their guests and sit with them at the uncheon. The 2010 On the Move Luncheon is hed in August at The Depot in Minneapois. Expected attendance is 400 to 500 guests.
