3 PRESIDENTS REPORT Presidents Report WITH SINCERE THANKS I would like to thank our partners and sponsors for their commitment and dedication in helping One Voice launch our first Mobile Shower Service in the City of Melbourne. This impacting service would not have been possible without your support and for that we are truly grateful. FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS Aldi Australia In January 2014 One Voice partnered with Aldi Supermarkets to sell our bottled spring water, for every pack sold Aldi donated $2 to assist with funding our first Mobile Shower Unit. The campaign was so successful that Aldi ran a second campaign in March for World Water Day, again with amazing results. We will continue to build on the relationship with Aldi and look forward to what the future holds. The John T Reid Trust In December 2013 we received notification that One Voice was successful with an application for a grant that would assist One Voice with the employment of a project manager to help run the Mobile Shower Service. This has been a vital inclusion to enable One Voice to run the service on a regular basis and has also helped patrons find secure accommodation, employment and connect them with existing organisations that provide relief and support. Commonwealth Bank Every year the CBA awards community grants to organisations that are creating social and community impact, in June 2014 we were advised that One Voice was successful. These funds will help with general operating costs to enable One Voice to run the Mobile Shower Service, which includes purchasing hygiene consumables and clothing that helps restore dignity in homeless peoples lives. OPERATING HIGHLIGHTS After launching our first Mobile Shower Service in February 2014 at Rebecca Walk in Melbourne s CBD we have helped over 200 people gain access to safe and secure shower facilities. I have personally been attending the service each week and it is humbling to see the impact a simple hot shower can have in peoples lives, the first man to shower was in there for 45min and when he came out his face was glowing with a smile from ear to ear, this man had not showered for over 2 months. We gave him a new set of clothes and he is now a regular attendee and advocate of our service to others. In the last month we have seen an increase in the number of young people attending the service and we have been able to connect many people with existing services to help with pathways out of homelessness. It is important to be able to build trusting relationships with patrons that use our service and the Mobile Showers are a great way to achieve this. Dignity is a given right for every Australian and I believe it can also be the start of a life- restoring journey.

4 PRESIDENTS REPORT (CONT) Presidents Report (cont) LOOKING AHEAD In November 2014 I will visit a social community in Italy called San Patrignano, here I will spend 10 days with a group of fellow social activists from around the world to share ideas and complete a workshop that will help One Voice finalise our working model for our first Life Restoration Community in Victoria, this unique community will provide accommodation and training for young Australians who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. San Patrignano is a life rehabilitation community that boasts an 85% success rate in the restoration of lives, they operate 36 social enterprises which help fund 70% of their operation, there are 1800 people that live in the community that has taken 30 years to establish. I am very passionate about collaboration between existing services and I believe that this experience will be a fundamental step in creating a community that will have the potential to End Youth Homelessness and have an everlasting impact on the young people we assist. We have already started to plan and develop our second new improved Mobile Shower Service that will be commissioned in July This new improved facility will be fully mobile with on- board water tanks and disposal tanks to ensure that we do not need to rely on external connections. This will enable One Voice to move the facility from suburb to suburb with ease, allowing One Voice to provide this essential service to many Australians who are experiencing homelessness will be an exciting year for everyone involved and I am looking forward to the impact that One Voice, Our Partners, Sponsors and Volunteers can be a part of in the lives of many fellow Australians.
