Adults who register youths are ultimately responsible for them at all times during the Convention. GREETINGS FROM THE TRILLIUM COMMITTEE! Welcome to the 2013 Trillium Convention! We're glad you're here. Our convention is named after the official flower and logo of the Province of Ontario, but we in Al-Anon/Alateen have a lot in common with the Trillium. Trilliums are planted by ants, attracted to a fleshy growth on the seed. The ants take the seed to their nest, where they eat the growth and leave the Trillium seed in the "garbage." While being tossed in a trash pile may seem very familiar to someone who has lived with the disease of alcoholism, this is actually where the Trillium seed finds a rich growing medium to plant its roots and begin its journey to the surface, where it blossoms. Trilliums appear to grow independently, but are interconnected and united by their roots. Like the Trillium, we in Al-Anon/Alateen are united in our common experience and in our recovery through the 12 Steps. Anonymity Statement There may be some who are not familiar with our Tradition of personal anonymity in any form of press, radio, films, TV, Internet, and other electronic media. If so, we respectfully ask that no Al-Anon, Alateen, or A.A. speaker or member be identified by full name or picture in published, broadcast, or Web-posted reports of our meeting. The assurance of anonymity is essential to our efforts to help other families of alcoholics, and our Tradition of anonymity reminds us to place Al-Anon and Alateen principles above personalities.
