1 Hello from Janet, Area Alateen Coordinator, I want to welcome you to the Coordinator s page(s). Ontario South Al-Anon supports Alateen and would like to further its efforts by having some personal sharings by Alateen at their Group Anniversaries, Al-Anon Day, Conferences etc. There are many activities where Alateen can share their message of recovery to teens looking for hope and friendship. Please consider filling in the form on page 3 and sending it to the Area Literature Office.(LDC) Up-Coming Events & Workshops 2014 Unity Conference-Alateen Unity is coming!! Barrie, ON June 6-8,2014 combined with District 1 Al-Anon Day Unity Conference June 6-8 th, 2014 Barrie Ontario *Scroll down below for more details* Alateens planning on attending the Unity Conference and other Al-Anon/Alateen/AA events need to complete these forms and present them to the event's registration person and/or the Supportive Al-Anon member (SAM) responsible for the Alateen program. Alateen members who are 18 years or older may sign their own forms. When reporting an incident or suspicion you do so as an individual and therefore I encourage all members to inform themselves regarding this legislation. 8 ALATEEN Area 86 Ontario South OSAAC is the voice of Alateen at the Area level. We provide leadership, plan events and carry out initiatives on behalf of Alateen in Ontario South Area 86. 9 We re Looking for a Few Good Alateens!!! (and Al-Anon members Involved in Alateen Service!) In 2012, your World Service Office (WSO) Alateen Work Group will be holding a series of Alateen Task Forces and Thought Forces to benefit from Alateen experience, strength, and hope! Each small group of members will be assigned a topic of interest to the future of Alateen, and asked to share with an Alateen Work Group representative on that topic. Some of these Task and Thought Forces will be face to face meetings at local Alateen events-possibly in your Area! Others will be held via conference call, , or other electronic means. We need Alateens and Al-Anon Members Involved in Alateen Service (SAM) from our Area to participate!! Alateen Members: Ages 13 to 18, with one year in Alateen, attending meetings regularly SAM: Currently Certified If you are interested in learning more, please contact your Area Alateen Coordinator. Your Group Sponsor can provide you with this trusted servant s contact information. Your Area, the WSO Alateen at Work Group, and your Alateen group share the goal of helping Alateen to grow and thrive, and we hope are excited about participating in this new project! 9
