Join us Monday, May 21, 2018 for an attendee reception followed by a pig picking and the Band of Oz in the Cardinal Ballroom of the Carolina Hotel (included with Registration). Golf Join us Monday morning for Golf on Pinehurst No. 5. $100 per player includes all fees and buffet lunch at the Members Club. Monday, Kacey Johnson survivor of the Columbine High School Shooting will present on the importance of tissue donation\ and a representative from the NC Department of Vital Records will present on Electronic Death Registration. Tuesday, Dr. Jason Troyer presents Coping Dr. Jason Troyer earned his doctorate in Counseling Psychology and is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee. He is a speaker, published author, and has provided counseling for bereaved individuals and groups. Dr. Troyer is also the Founder of Mt Hope Grief Services which provides grief publications, presentations, workshops, and consulting services. He is a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling and is Certified in Thanatology: Death, Dying, and Bereavement. Kacey Johnson is a survivor of the vicious 1999 attacks at Columbine High School. She uses her profound story to spread a global message of hope and forgiveness. Kacey has overcome insurmountable odds, and now graces the pages of magazines, news broadcasts, and stages across America to share her story. A somewhat timid teenager, she never imagined that her early years of surviving friends suicides, world class equestrian successes and disappointments, a national tragedy, losing her job as an oncology nurse and subsequent identity issues, physical disabilities and PTSD would propel her into an adulthood largely spent inspiring and encouraging others. An instinctively private and quiet woman, Kacey has evolved into a dynamic motivational speaker. She shares intimate details about devastating injuries she sustained in the Columbine High School shooting, allowing large audiences to unearth surprising beauty from the ashes of such a nationally tragic event. She infuses a polished yet hard-earned glimmer of hope into each opportunity she receives to speak to tissue donors, victim advocacy groups, and a variety of related professional groups such as the NCFDA. Kacey is married to Carolina Donor Services Director of Tissue Services, Patrick Johnson, as is a mother to their four young children.
