2 To District Governor District 325 B Nepal Dear sir, You know that Lions Club of Balkumari College is one and only one College Lions club in our district. Since its establishment it has been working in the field of health education and awareness. This year also we are indulge in these fields. As we have a motive that we should be well for making others well so we had organized Lions health checkup BMI camp on the occasion of cabinet meeting at Narayangarh. During this Lionistic year we had accomplished different community programmes like free medical check up with free medicine and refreshment distribution at Brida Ashram Devghat, Maternal child health camp, Tree plantation, Health awareness program, Lions quest teacher training program, training to the officers of Narayangarh area, Peace poster context, Blood Donation, Teaching material Distribution, eye camps etc. In interrelation program we had organized Dashain Feast-2064 and Badminton competition among Lions of chitwan. This year we published newsletter of club in each month possibly at the end of each month where we try to reflect glimpses what we have done during the month. Fund raising is necessary for every social club and as being a campus club we had planned to raise our fund through intellectual activities.. Definitely we had been able to save some amount of money this year. And we had deposited Rs one Lakh in fixed deposited in Suvekshya Bank. All Club activities are the collective efforts of fellow lions. Our senior lions have constituted certain ground rules within the club, which has helped to balance and systematize the activities. Time management, equal participation in discussion on agendas, gender balance, encouragement to expose and use of international language are some of good points the club has well maintained. We had dropped some inactive members and some potential members had added this year. 3 members dropped and 5 members were added this year. Finally we would like to thank all the lions and non Lions who indulge to make the success of different Club activities. Long Live Lionism. (Bijay Lal Pradhan) Presidenet LY 2007/08 (Devi Sapkota) Secretary LY 2007/ Participation in Zone Meeting All three zone meeting were attended by president and secretary Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan and secretary Lion Devi Sapkota respectively. 3.5 PST Training Officers of LY 2007/08, President Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan, Secretary Lion Devi Sapkota, Treasurer Lion Ujjawal Poudel took part in PST training held at Ratnanagar Tandi. Similarly Officers of LY 2008/09, President Lion Shyam Kumar Piya, Secretary Lion Shiliya Shrestha and Treasurer Lion Surya Bhakta Bhattarai had taken PST training held at 4th cabinet meeting at Narayangarh. On the occasion President Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan had played the role of resource person of the training to the secretary about WMMR reporting. 4. Contribution 4.1 contribution in LPF On the day of installation, Lions Club of Balkumari College we had donated Rs 5000/- to LPF fund and the cash amount was handed to District Governor on the same day. 4.2 Contribution to Flood Victim During the rainy season at the month of August some part of Nepal was affected by flood. Lions clubs were indulge for collection of amount for victims. Lions club of Balkumari College had Rs 3000/- for flood victims. 4.3 Contribution to club Two Guests German Nurses Mr. Alexander Bitzigeio and Miss Mareike Spliess visited our two Health Camps one in Devghat and another in Baraghare. Observing the camps and our social work they had aggred to contribute Rs 12,000 per annum for helping needy people through club. Rs 6000/- was deposited to the club where as they will send the quoted amount through Money Transfer regularly. 5. 3 3. Participation 3.1 Participation in Multiple Convention On 21st May 2008 Lions Clubs International Multiple District 325 Nepal had organized its 8th Convention. On the occasion president Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan, MCP Lion Mathura Sapkota and Asst. treasurer Lion Surya Bhakta Bhattari were present and L. Bijay and L. Surya caste their vote for the election of the International director endorsee. Lion Sanjay Khetan was elected as the International director endorsee from the convention. 3.2 Participation in District Convention Lions Clubs International District 325 B Nepal has organized its 11th district convention on 19th April 2007, at Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi, Kathmandu. Program started with peace parade started from Basantapur Durbar Square. President Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan, Chartered President Lion Chiranjivi Shrestha and Past President Lion Birendra Kumar Shrestha were present on the program.on the occasion President Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan was awarded with a letter of appreciation from the special guest PID Lion Ahoka Gunashekhara. 3.3 Participation in Cabinet Meeting On the 1st cabinet meeting held in Birjung President L. Bijay Lal Pradhan took part. Similarly 3rd Cabinet meeting held at Dhangadi President Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan, P. P. L. Birendra Kumar Shrestha, P. P. L. Shiva Prasad Poudel and Treasurer Lion Ujjwal Poudel were present. Similarly in fourth cabinet meeting held at Narayangarh President Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan, Chartered President L. Chiranjivi Shrestha, PP L. Bishnu Kumar Shrestha, PP L. Shiva Prasad Poudel, Secretary L. Devi Sapkota, President Elect L. Shyam Kumar Piya, Secretary elect L. Shiliya Shrestha and Treasurer elect L. Surya Bhakta Bhattarai, third VP L. Sarojini Sharma and tail twister L. Lalita Shrestha were participants from LC Balkumari College Activities 1.1Blood Donation: On 13 th of May 2008, On the occasion of International Nursing day Lions club of Balkumari College and Nursing Association of Nepal, Chitwan branch jointly organized a Blood Donation Program at District Development office at Bharatpur. The Blood Donation Program was started from morning 10 AM to 2 PM. 44 Ladies donated blood where there were 6 from our club. The program was started by Donating Blood by 3rd vice president Lion Goma Devi Shrestha Niraula. Photograph of blood donation, DDC,Bharatpur 1.1 Health Camps Old Age Health Camp-1 On 8th September Club has organized Free health checkup camp at Devghat Brida Ashram, Devghatdham, Tanahu. 35 old aged people were checked up by Dr Harishchandra Neupane, Dr Ishwar Chandra Ghimire, Dr. Shital Adhikari and Senior Health Person Lion Shankar Adhikari. On the program Nurses Lion Goma Devi Shrestha Niraula, Lion Devi Sapkota, Lion Dr Sital Checking Senior Citizen Mathura Sapkota along with 20 students of staff nurse, second year assisted the senior citizens. Leo members were also indulge for helping senior citizens Old Age Health Camp-2 On 16 th of February club has organized a Health camp at Devghat Brida Asram, Devghat. The Program was conducted under the chair- 3

4 manship of President Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan. Program was assisted by Leo Club of Balkumari college and Health Department Balkumari College. Dr. Sabina Shrestha and Senior Health Inspector Lion Shankar Adhikari checked up the Senior Citizens and Lions Staff nurses and students of staff nurse, Balkumari college helped for the treatment. At the end, fruits & biscuits were distributed to the old persons Old Age Health Camp-3 As a regular program Lions Club of Balkumari College and Leo club of Balkumari college had jointly organized Health Camp at old aged home Devghat, Tanahu on 7th July On the occasion 34 Senior citizen were checked and distributed medicine freely. Lions, Leos and Student of Staff Nurse Balkumari College helped in the program Maternity Child Health Camp On 12th June 2008 Lions Club of Balkumari College had organized Maternity Child Health camp at Deurali Youth club, Durga Mandir, Baraghare. Dr. Bijaya Raj Acharya Checked 58 females and child. Dr. was assisted by senior health inspector Lion Shankar Adhikari, Senior Pathologist Lion Meegh Raj Sapkota, Staff Nurses Lion Prabina Shrestha and Shila Lamichhane. Old Aged Health Camp, Devghat, Tanahu Health camp 3 at Devghat, Tanahu Maternity ChildHealth camp, Baraghare Health Test (BMI Check) On the 17th of May Lions club of Balkumari College has organized Health indicator measurement camp for Lion member at the premises of Narayani Audit Audit report of income and expenses of Club for the Lionistic year 2007/08 was published in Souvenir and the financial report for 08/09 will be audited within the 1st week of july Installation Program On 22nd September, ie 5th Aswin 2064 the sixth installation of Lions Club of Balkumari College together with Leo Club was held at the premises of Balkumari College seminar Hall. Chief Guest of the program was MCC Lion Sanjaya Khetan and the Installation officer was Lion Dr JayaHari Raj Pandey. The program was conducted under the chairman of President Lion Bi- 6th installation program of the club jay Lal Pradhan. Among the senior Lions presence were PMCC Lion Giridhari Sharma, PRO in chief Lion Arun Pratap Rana, PDG Lion Prabhat Kumar Joshi were also present in the program Charter Celebration On the 16th of April 2008, Lions Club of Balkumari College Celebrate its Chartered Day With chief guest PDG Lion Prabhat Kumar Joshi under the chairmanship of President Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan. Sight first group Coordinator Lion Rajkumar Shrestha, Zone Chairperson Lion Kamal Prasad Shrestha and extension Chairpersion Lion Gayatri Shrestha were among those who express best wishes. PDG and Chartered President Jointly opened the Celebration of Chartered Day Ceremony ceremony by cutting the Chartered Day cake Publication of Plan of Action Action Plan for the Lionistic Year 2007/08 was published on the day 7th July 2007 with different date of meetings. 13

5 2.3 Multiple Dues Annual Multiple due was paid to the Multiple through District Treasurer Lion Mahendra Bahadur Shrestha once in the month of September District Dues Annual District dues of the Member of Lions club of Balkumari College had been paid to the district through area Coordinator Lion Siddhartha Lal Chuke at once on the month of September. 2.5 Regular Meeting As per rule Balkumari College meets every alternate Saturday at 4.00 P.M. In total there were 26 general meetings. Observing the attendance records 75% presence had been recorded where as 6.25 percent had been observed as absence without information (those who failed to inform of absence ) 2.6 Board Meeting First Wednesday of each month we organize Board Meeting. Altogether there was 12 Board Meetings. 2.7 MAR Monthly activity report (MAR) of every 12 month had been filled and mailed to the District Governor Vice District Governor, Area Coordinator, Region Chairperson, Zone Chairperson etc regularly. 2.8 MMR Monthly Membership report (MMR) of every month was mostly filled on 1st day of the following month and mailed to the District Governor Vice District Governor, Area Coordinator, Region Chairperson, Zone Chairperson etc. 2.9 PU 101 Officers information for LY 2008/09 form PU101 was filled and submitted to international and district office just after election of the club in the month of April Club Newsletter Monthly Newsletter of the Club is being published usually at the end of the every month. Basically it includes Activities and information. Editor of newsletters was President Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan. 12 Kala Mandir where fourth cabinet meeting was organized. On the occasion Body Mass Index was calculated according to body weight and height. Along with BMI Blood pressure was also checked. And the report was printed and delivered immediately. 60 Lion member were checked their BMI on the program. 1.2 Tree Plantation On 24th of Nov 2007, Lions Club of Balkumari College had organized a tree plantation program in fond memory of Late Lion Past District Governor of District 325 B Nepal, Dr Yadav Prasad Pant. On the program different variety of plants were planted at the premises of Balkumari College 1.3 Eye Camp Lions Club of Balkumari College Lions BMI Index Measurement 17th May 2008 BMI measurement with BP, 4 th Cabinet Meeting Photographs of Tree Plantation Free eye check up camp-1 On the 26th Feb 2007, Lions Club of Balkumari College had organized Free Eye Check Up Camp and Free Eye Surgery Camp at Ward No 2 at the Premises of Teaching Hospital, Balkumari College, Kshetrapur. The Program was assisted by Leo club of Balkumari College, Health Department Balkumari college and CMS Teaching Hospital, Bharatpur. On that program 145 patient were checked up and Photographs of Free eye Screening 13 cataract patient were observed out of which 6 underwent surgery at CMS Teaching Hospital 5

6 1.3.2 Free eye check up camp-2 On 29th of March Club organized 2nd eye camp at Jagatpur VDC. In total 56 patient were checked up and found 6 cataract were detected. The patients were taken to the Eye Hospital at Bharatpur and cataract surgery was done on the next day. Secretary Lion Devi Sapkota was coordinator for this camp. Secretary of the Jagatpur VDC Hari Dhakal Helped to arrange the camp at Jagatpur Free eye check up camp-3 On 14th June 2008, Lions club of Balkumari College organized 3rd eye camp at Gaidakot VDC Hall at Gaidakot. 256 patient were checked and out of which 5 cataract patient were observed. The patient were taken to college of Medical sciences, Bharatpur and next day operation was done. Lion Shiliya Shrestha was coordinator for the program. Photographs of eye checkup camp Eye Check up camp at Gaidakot VDC 1.4 Fund Raising This year we were able to collect some money through intellectual works like food feast-2064, Souvenir and conducting some trainings. Rs (One Lakh Rupees ) was deposited in Fixed for 5 years in Suveksha Development Bank, Narayangarh. The role of the senior Lions especially Charter President Lion Chiranjivi Shrestha had played very prominent role in fund raising. 1.5 Free Medicine Distribution Free Medicine Distribution-1 On 8th September 2007 club has organized free health checkup camp with free distribution of Medicine and fruits. After checkups free medicine were distributed and refreshments like Fruits, Biscuits were distributed to the old aged people Debate Competition On 28th June 2008 club has organized Debate competition for the students of Health of Balkumari College.. 12 students participated in the competetion. The topic was Nursing service in country or abroad. Sujita Century and Anjana Pandey Succeded to win first and second position respectively. Charter president Lion Chiranjivi Shrestha distributed prize to the winner. Lion Shankar Adhikari was coordinator for the program Get together On 30th June get together program of Members of Lions club of Balkumari College had organize a get together program at the premises of Balkumari College. On the program Outgoing president Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan expressed gratitude to the Lions for their cooperation. He wish the new team headed by Lion Shyam Kumar Piya for the success of the coming Lionistic year. 2. Presentation 2.1 Souvenir Publication On the Occasion of 6th Installation program 6th Souvenir (Mirror of the activities with articles of Lions members) of Lions Club of Balkumari College was published. MCC Lion Sanjaya Khetan released the Souvenir Pc of the Souvenir was printed. Editor of this Souvenir was President Lion Bijay lal Pradhan. MCC Lion Sanjay Khetan releasing Souvenir 2.2 International Dues The international dues had been paid as per rule in two installment basis. One up to December 07 and next up to June 08. Similarly the dues of the new members were also deposited through the Investment Bank, Narayangarh Branch. 11

7 Health Department Balkumari College and Lions Club of Balkumari College decided to conduct informal education to the children of this locality jointly Teaching Material Distribution-2 On the 24th February 2008, Lions Club of Balkumari College has distributed Teaching Materials to the students of the underprivileged class students.on the programme Charter president L. Chiranjibi Shrestha and president L. Bijay Lal Pradhan had jointly distributed the education materials (Exercise Books, Pencils, Sharpener and eraser with sweets). The sponsor for the material was Rajeshwori Pradhan ( Spouse of Distributing Teaching Material to students President) 1.11 President Secretary Training On 7th June 2007, Lions club of Balkumari college had organized President Secretary training for Web based MMR and MAR on presence of PDG Lion Prabhat Kumar Joshi. President Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan had undertaken responsibility of resource person. All presidents and secretaries were trained practically. Nine Computers connected with radio link internet were used to give this training. There were 19 presidents and secretaries present to take the training. Incoming area coordinator Lion Nabarj Sapkota was coordinator for the program. We thank to the Computer Department of Balkumari College for providing us the computer Lab on the day Collection Program for flood victim In the month of August southern part of Nepal was victimized by flood so Lions clubs from Chitwan started campaign of collection of money and cloths. From our club President Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan, Lion Bishnu Kumar Shrestha and Lion Ujjwal Poudel were indulge 3 days collection Program Free Medicine Distribution-2 On 16 th of February 2008, at Health camp Devghat Free Medicine were distributed by club and Fruits and biscuits were also distributed. Medicine were collected by Lion Devi Sapkota and Mathura Sapkota where as Fruits and biscuits were distributed by President Lion Bijay Lal Pradhan on the occasion of his 6th Distribution Medicine, Biscuits and Fruits marriage anniversary Free Medicine Distribution-3 On 7 th of June 2008, at Health camp Devghat Free Medicine were distributed by club and Bhuja and Biscuits with Glucose were also distributed. Medicine were collected by Lion Devi Sapkota and Goma Devi Shrestha where as Bhuja was given by president elect Lion Shyam Kumar Piya and Biscuits and Glucose were donated by Leo Club of Balkumari College Free Medicine Distribution-4 On 12 th of June 2008, at Maternity Child Health camp Baraghare, Club had distributed free medicine to the patients. Medicine costing Rs. 3000/- were collected by Lion Devi Sapkota, Lion Goma Devi Shrestha, Niraula and Lion Sarojini Sharma. Health check up service had been done to the general public in the beginning. 1.6 Peace Poster Contest 1.13 Stride Program On 14th Nov 2007 Lions clubs in Chitawan (combinely) organized stride program. Lions from different clubs were present in morning walk with banner on the day. President Lion Bijay Pradhan with other members took part in that program. About 150 Lions were there in the long march. 10 7

8 On 29th of 2007, Lions Club of Balkumari College has organized Peace Poster Competition among the age group 11 to 13 years. From different schools eight students took part on the program. Club President Lion Bijay Lal Pradan inaugurated the programme at 2:00 PM. On the program Mr Anup Bhattarai of Mrigasthali School stood first position. The selected poster was sent to the Multiple through District office Kathmandu. 1.7 Blood donation By Lions Members On 13 th of May 2008, On the occasion of International Nursing day Lion Goma Devi Shrestha Niraula, 3rd VP, Lion Devi Sapkota, Secretary, Lion Sarojini Sharma, 3rd VP elect, Lion Mathura Sapkoa, MCP and Lion Prabina Shrestha, MCP elect, total 6 Lions members donated the blood. 1.8 Lions Quest Teachers Training Programme On 5th, 6th and 7th August 2007 Our club hosted the Lions Quest Teachers Training Program. Lions Quest Teachers Training was long awaited program. There were altogether 34 participants from schools of Chitwan and Nawal Parasi. Madame Nidhi Nagrath from Bombay was the trainer. After completion of the training a task force having 5 members to coordinate the program in Chitwan and Nawalparasi was formed. Multiple Council MCC L Sanjaya Khetan in T. T. Program Chairperson Lion Sanjaya Khetan, DC L Sonam & Co-DC Lion Chiranjivi Shrestha had made special contribution for the grand success of Quest Teachers Training Participation in Lions Quest teachers training Teachers from different Government and Boarding school took part in the Lions Quest Teachers Training Programme. All 34 trainee were contacted by Lions club of Balkumari College and has been doing follow up and coordination to run the Quest Classes. 1.9 Interrelation Program 1.9.1(Food Feast-2064) On 26th October Lions Club of Balkumari College had organized Dashain Feast 2064 at the premises of Hotel Management Hall of Balkumari College. The program intended to celebrate the Dashain 8 and to interchange wishes on the auspicious occasion of Bijaya Dashami. On the programme Lions and Leos from different Clubs as well as their spouses took part. Special contribution had been made by Lion Lalita Shresta and Lion Chiranjivi Shrestha. Celebrating Dashain Feast-2064 at BKC Badminton Tournament On 15 th of january club has organized Lions Badminton Tournment on the auspicious occasion of Melvin Jones Month. Lions from different clubs of chitwan were participated in the programme. PDG Lion Prabhat Kumar Joshi and Charter President Lion Chiranjivi Shrestha jointly started the programme by playing the game. Chief Guest Lion Prabhat Kumar Joshi gave away awards and certificates to the winners of the Tournament. Lion Shamser Ghamale and Lion Subhash Photographs after Distribution of Award Shrestha of Lions Club of Ratnanager stood first and Second respectively Teaching Material Distribution Teaching Material Distribution-1 On 7th December 2007, Lions Club of Balkumari College had distributed teaching materials to the students of Sukumbasi tole.
