He has invited her to a number of industry events and has introduced her to groups and individuals that she likely would not have met at this point in her career. Mabel was selected for the National Academy of Engineering - Frontiers of Engineering Symposium! Only 89 of the nations brightest young engineers are selected for this symposium! She attributes this honor to her mentor, I would not be sharing this good news if my mentor Jim Shields had not nominated me. Mabel has been promoted and her mentor is still there for her as a sounding board even though their Conexión year has ended!
