1 Day & Date: Saturday, June 6, 2015 Time: Noon Midnight Location: Reno Aces Ballpark PARKING, SECURITY and ACCESS TO THE BALLPARK Will the roads surrounding the park be open? Evans Ave will be closed from 2 nd Street to Plaza Circle. The street will be closed from 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6 through 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 7. Where can I park? We have secured free parking in the Basin Street Parking Garage, located on the corner of 2 nd Street and Jones Vargas Court/N. Rock Street. There is a drop-off zone on 2 nd Street/Kuenzli (going westbound) just before Evans Avenue. What security or safety measures are in place for the event? Access to the infield will be restricted and off limits to all participants. The Rotunda Entrance (main gate) will be the only access in and out of the park during the event; the Home Plate Entrance (gate adjacent to the 2 nd Street crosswalk) will only be open before and after the event. REMSA will be on hand and the Reno Police Department is located across the street. At all time, please follow any safety instructions given by your Relay Committee and Aces staff. First Aid & Medical Emergencies: REMSA will be on-site and available to provide medical assistance. Basic first aid materials, i.e. band aids, will be available at the Hospitality Station. Where may I get information or assistance? Any member of the Relay Event Leadership Team may assist you or connect you with someone who can do so. They are the people wearing the GREEN Relay t-shirts. In addition, there is an Information/Hospitality Station located at the Rotunda Entrance (Site #8). Have you Lost Someone at Relay (Lost Children or other People)? Tell someone in a GREEN Relay Event Leadership T-Shirt! We will help communicate the need to find someone or assist in reconnecting lost people on-site. I have lost something at Relay or found a lost item. Where should I go? During Relay, you may check at the Hospitality Station. After Relay, you may contact the ACS Office or the Reno Aces Ballpark.

2 THE EVENT What is the walking route? We will be walking the concourse. Be advised that the route will be narrow along the railroad side. It is a concrete path; please plan accordingly. What am I allowed to bring into the ballpark? Temporary shelter, including EZ-Ups/Pop-Up Tents. Tables, chairs, non-glass containers, flashlights, blankets, sweatshirts or other outerwear, team banners and decorations, sunscreen, hats, umbrellas. Please review the Reno Aces Ballpark Regulations for additional information. What am I NOT allowed to bring into the ballpark? No Glass No Alcohol No Bubbles No Tobacco No Weapons No Bicycles No Elephants See Aces Rules Is water available in the Ballpark? Yes, the Ballpark has water fountains available to refill containers. Beverages will be available for sale. Do you take credit cards? Will an ATM be on site? The American Cancer Society will be able to accept credit cards, via a square and cell phone, for donations at the Registration Area. We will not be able to provide cash to participants through a credit card charge. However, the Reno Aces has ATMs available in the Ballpark should you use wish to withdraw cash. For what may I need cash onsite? Food, beverages, donations, and onsite fundraising activities, i.e. lap bead counters, visits with the llama, drawing entries, games, items for sale, and many more. Are children able to attend? Absolutely. Children of all ages are welcome to attend. In fact, we will have a Kids Zone onsite from 1:00 7:00 p.m. during the event. Children must be chaperoned throughout the event. May I bring my dog or other pet? No, dogs and other pets are not permitted at Relay For Life. The one exception is service animals as provided under the ADA, i.e. Assistance Dogs. Is there an area for smoking? Absolutely not! Come on, we re the American Cancer Society. May I volunteer to help with Relay For Life? Yes, we d love to have you volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering onsite on June 6, please contact us at renorelayteams@gmail.com by Thursday or you may drop by the Hospitality Station to see if we have any volunteer needs on the day of Relay.

3 Day & Date: Saturday, June 6, 2015 Time: Noon Midnight Location: Reno Aces Ballpark TEAMS INFORMATION When and where may I unload equipment for my team site? When and where may I load my equipment from my team site? Will there be a drop-off zone? All Teams have been moved to either the Main Concourse or the Plaza Lawn. See changes space limits and load-in time and location: Load-In is between 9:00 10:00 a.m. The access to the drop-off area closes at 10:00 a.m. as we must shift to bringing in the food trucks. You will use the Rotunda Entrance and will have access to Evans Avenue to unload your materials. Bring a friend to stay with your materials while you park your vehicle. DO NOT PARK HERE. You can take your things through the Rotunda Entrance and to your assigned location. You may continue to set up your team site after 10:00 a.m., but you will not be able to drive onto Evans Avenue and unload any longer. Consider bringing a wagon or cart to carry things. You may load-out following the conclusion of the event. The access area will open again following the Closing Ceremony at roughly midnight. If you come late or wish to leave early, you will have to park your vehicle and then carry your materials to your team site or back across the street to the Basin Street Parking Garage. How large is my Team Site and where will it be situated? Team sites on the Main Concourse are roughly 8 x 10 and sites #4 32 are covered by the Concourse roof. Do not bring a canopy or tent if your team is covered by Concourse roof; there is not room for it. Teams. All teams located at sites #33 and above will be in the sun and should consider bringing a 10 x 10 canopy; you can plan on a total of 12 x 12 of space. You will need to weigh it down with sandbags, cinder blocks, or other types of weights. You re on concrete, so no staking is possible. It is the responsibility of the Team Captain to reserve and coordinate the set-up of the team site. What should I have at my Team Site? Teams will typically set up a space that provides shade and seating for their team members. Teams will usually bring EZ Ups or other Pop-Up shade tents as well as camp or folding chairs and tables. Teams are encouraged to host fundraising activities onsite (but not required), and these activities should occur at the team site. In addition, many teams will decorate their team sites. We are having a team site decorating competition; winners will be posted on Facebook. Team sites provide an area for your team members to meet, socialize and relax when not walking laps or participating in activities or eating.

4 Are there any Team Site restrictions? Any team using an EZ Up or Pop-Up must properly weigh it down. Staking is prohibited. No food or beverages are permitted on the field. You may eat at your team site, on the Plaza, and at any of the picnic tables on the concourse. Do not cover or remove any signage already in place. What is the latest I should arrive in order to participate in the entire event. We want everyone settled into their team sites by 11:30 a.m. in order to attend the Opening Ceremony and cheer on our Cancer Survivors. Plan on lining the track/walking route to cheer on our Survivors. Does my whole team have to run or walk the entire time? No. Generally, Relayers take turns walking. It is up to the team captain to coordinate the walking schedule with their team members. A small number of people will choose to run instead of walk; it is your choice. There will be a 5K Fun Run at 7:00 p.m. See the Team Fundraisers list and visit the host team to sign up for the 5K. What if I want to raise funds onsite at the event? You are welcome to do so at your team site. your on-site fundraiser to renorelayteams@gmail.com as we attempt to minimize fundraiser overlap. We want to encourage a variety of fundraisers and will periodically share the list of reserved ideas. I have donations to submit. How do I do so? Throughout the Relay season, you should give all donations to your Team Captain(s). They will be responsible for submitting the funds to the Accounting Staff so that we ensure your team and its members are properly credited. All donation envelopes submitted to Accounting must be complete, especially with the team name and a contact name and number. Team Captains will be given specific times to submit donations onsite. Do all team members need to register to participate? We really need to have all team members registered online. It helps us prepare for your participation, especially in terms of logistics and supplies, and account for our expenses. Here s the link to the website: It s really easy. If you need assistance or do not have computer access, you can call to share your information with an ACS Staff member who will register you online. You may also register on-site if you wish. What happened to the wristbands mentioned in the earlier FAQ? We have eliminated the wristbands. We are promoting Relay to the larger community in order to attract new members of the community to come to Relay. We will be highly encouraging an on-site donation from all individuals who are not registered on a team. As a registered Relayer, we recognize that you are already fundraising. While we will always accept additional donations, we know that you have already been raising funds as a Relayer and want to recognize you for doing so.

5 I heard that there are Relay For Life T-shirts. How do I earn a T-Shirt? There are four colors of t-shirts for 2015: Purple, White, Blue and Green Purple Survivors T-Shirts: The purple t-shirt is one given to our Cancer Survivors. Each Cancer Survivor who registers online will provided a t-shirt as a gift in recognition of their survivor journey. Ideally, Survivors will wear their purple Survivor t-shirt during the Survivor Lap. Team Captains will pick up the t-shirts for all Survivors on their team at the June 1 Bank Night and then distribute them to their team s Survivors. Survivors, who are not registered on a team, may pick up their t-shirt at Relay on June 6 in the Survivor VIP Area. White Hope Club T-Shirts: The white Hope Club t-shirt is given to any individual who raises $100 or more in donations for the American Cancer Society. Hope Club t-shirts will be given to the Team Captains, during Bank Night, to be distributed to their team members who have earned the Hope Club t-shirt. Blue Team Captain T-Shirts: Each Team Captain is given a blue t-shirt in recognition of their work as a Team Captain. Green Event Leadership T-Shirts: The Event Leadership Team will be wearing a green t-shirt in order to make them more easily identified on-site. Any member of the Event Leadership Team will be able to either assist you onsite or connect you with someone who can do so. Why is it Noon to Midnight? We are experimenting with the time of the event this year. After soliciting feedback and reviewing past concerns, the Planning Committee decided to focus the attention and activity of a Relay into twelve hours with the goal of really high engagement throughout the Relay, from the Opening Ceremony to a really big and memorable closing ceremony. We will still have all the great things you ve come to love about Relay, including meaningful attention on our amazing Cancer Survivors, the Survivors Lap, a touching Luminaria Ceremony, entertainment and activities, theme laps, fundraising opportunities, and yes, walking a track throughout the event. By moving to the Reno Aces Ballpark and to a more focused period of time, we hope to introduce more people to Relay For Life.

6 Day & Date: Saturday, June 6, 2015 Time: Noon Midnight Location: Reno Aces Ballpark THE EVENT Entertainment, Theme Laps and Activities What is the schedule of activities, theme laps and entertainment for Relay For Life? A schedule of the entertainment, activities, theme laps, and the available food vendors is outlined in separate document and will be ed to all Team Captains to share with their team members. Three highlights of the schedule are: The Opening Ceremony and Survivors Lap will begin at Noon. Please plan on being onsite and in place by 11:45 a.m. so you don t miss it. The Luminaria Ceremony will begin at 9:00 p.m. The Closing Ceremony will occur following the concert at the end of the evening. What is the Luminaria Ceremony? The Luminaria Ceremony occurs at every Relay For Life event. As the sun sets, luminaria bags light up the night and Relay For Life participants, survivors, and caregivers gather to remember loved ones lost to cancer and to honor those whose fight continues. Relay For Life participants and donors remember loved ones lost to cancer and honor those battling the disease by dedicating luminaria bags. Each luminaria is personalized with a name, photo, message or drawing in memory or honor of a friend or loved one who has been affected by cancer. Luminaria can also be dedicated in support of a Relay participant. How do I have a luminary bag included at the event? A luminaria bag is provided in exchange for a $10 donation. If you wish to decorate your own luminaria bag, we can provide you with a bag. We are providing luminaria bags to Team Captains, upon request, to share with their team members in their fundraising efforts. All $10 donations received by your team should be submitted to your team captain for inclusion in your team s fundraising efforts. Donors may also secure a luminaria bag by making a donation online and providing the message they would like included on the bag. Luminaria will be available onsite as well; a decorating station will be located on the concourse at site #12 (Hosted by Jessica and Ebara International Corporation). What are Theme Laps: What do you do when you re walking to raise money for the American Cancer Society? Entertain yourself and everyone else! While people are walking, there will be several "theme" laps. Costumes are encouraged. Theme Laps are outlined in the schedule.
