Your Walk & Run dollars support educational workshops, restorative Reiki treatments, transportation to treatment and personal training sessions to help patients regain their strength. These are just a few of the ways your sponsorship helps put hope in motion for our cancer patients. Since 1992, the Carl & Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center has achieved a well-deserved reputation for delivering cancer care that is second to none. While the entire cancer team is committed to treating the disease, much of the program s distinction comes from all of the little ways they care for each patient as an individual. Their focus is on the patient and family experience, and this is evident in every aspect of the cancer program from the one-on-one attention patients receive from physicians, staff and dedicated volunteers to the specialized programs and free of charge services that are offered to help patients from diagnosis to treatment and beyond. The Walk & Run is the signature fundraising event for the Bennett Cancer Center. Over the course of its 21-year history, sponsors have played a major role in the event s growth and success. Strengthen your internal teams and build morale while everyone rallies for a cause that touches all of us in some way. Designate a team captain and register online. Then get started fundraising. Host a Mini Event Since Hope in Motion is a year-round fundraising initiative for the Bennett Cancer Center, our supporters often host their own special events, either near the time of the Walk & Run or at other times during the year. Mini events are great for team building and fundraising. If you re interested in hosting an event but don t know how to get started, consider gathering your friends, family and co-workers to participate in a hobby or activity you already enjoy. For example, you can host: A golf tournament A happy hour at a local bar (maybe even have a 50/50 raffle) A bake sale or ice cream social at your office A sporting event (tennis, softball, bowling, etc.) A dress down day You ll be surprised at how easy it is and how many local organizations are willing to support your efforts.
