1 ! Moy Hill Farm CSA Membership Form CSA stands for CommunitySupported Agriculture. CSA proposes an alterna8ve, local and solidarity based economic model of agriculture and food distribu8on. It means a share in the harvest for everyone who par8cipates. Community Supported Agriculture is about sharing the risks and rewards of farming. It works by asking members to commit to buying a share of the farm s harvest for a year in advance. In this way, your growers have the security to embrace lowinput ecological produc8on, and in return, our members feel a lot more connected to where their food is coming from and how it s produced. It is essen8al that new members understand what is meant by sharing the risks and rewards of farming. As members receive a share of the harvest each week, they soon become aware of exactly what is inseason and how the weather affects their vegetables. If it is a good year members can enjoy a bumper share of the harvest. If, however, it is a bad year, members must also accept a smaller / less varia8on share. Although we depend on your commitment to support Moy Hill Farm, we also understand that circumstances change and members may occasionally need to cancel their subscrip8on prematurely. In this case we ask for a minimum of two months no8ce. You get fresh, chemical free vegetables from Moy, Lahinch that are picked shortly before they arrive on your plate for maximum nutri8onal value and us, the growers, get a fair deal for our work. 2 Membership Terms and Condi8ons Commitment For A Season with a CSA membership you sign up for a season of fresh vegetables while providing financial stability for the grower and the local economy. 1. A Weekly Share Of Produce We will provide fresh produce from our farm each week from June 23rd to 15th December (26 weeks). We are commiyed to providing the vegetables we can produce seasonally. That means the box will vary from week to week with whatever is freshest. As the season turns, different vegetables will appear in your box, while others may disappear. 2. Farm Visits, Workshops, Open Days and Work Days We d like you to see where your vegetables come from and learn a bit more about how we work. We hope you can make some farm visits during the year and maybe learn a new skill, visit where your food comes from and meet other CSA members. Visits may include: Open Work Days Farm Tours Cooking Workshops Growing Workshops BBQ and Music Sessions Yoga Classes Farm Picnics Summer Tuesdays (1 st May 31 st September) 10 volunteers max. The work will be mainly light jobs Everyone must bring; Suitable Footwear (Boots or Wellies) Waterproof Jacket Suitable Clothing they don t mind genng dirty This is a very physical day and we have a lot of work to do so please bring lots of energy and a good happy work ethic. Wednesday (intro workday) 2:30 5pm This is a day to get to the farm and learn more about how it operates. The work will be mainly light jobs.

4 3. Membership deposit and payments This year our CSA will run for 26 weeks. One of the key aspects of the CSA system is commitment. We commit to you and you commit to us, so we can plan our plan8ng and make sure we have enough for everyone and that there is as liyle waste as possible. We are aware that this may be too much to pay all in one go, so we re offering three methods of payment. Op\on 1: A oneoff payment at the beginning of June; this is our preferred op8on Op\on 2: Twophase payments; one at the beginning of June and one at the beginning of September Op\on 3: Standing order; instalments of at the beginning of every month, or every two weeks if required. Delivery/Pickup We can deliver your share either: Every Friday: Moy Hill Community Garden, in Moy. Your box will be labeled and in the VEG Shed in the top right corner of the garden Every Saturday: from 9am at Ennistymon Farmers Market Home Delivery on Fridays before 12pm: 130 ( 5 per week) to be added to share at the beginning of the season. We can also put you in contact with other CSA members to arrange shared pick ups. PLEASE NOTE: We will provide each share in a box with your name. Everyone will have two boxes, which we will interchange. We have included a refundable 30 deposits. Each week you forget to return your box 2 will be deducted from your deposit. PLEASE NOTE: We advise you to wash your vegetables before ea8ng; we follow organic standards on our farm and do not use any chemical pes8cides or fer8lisers. We are not however officially cer8fied. 5. Social Share If you would like to join Moy Hill Farm CSA but cannot afford the full amount please contact us using the address below and we can discuss the possibility of a reduced amount based on your financial situa8on. 6.
