9 To carried out about plant health controls according to Regulation on Plant Quarantine in Turkey. This regulation is harmonised European Union legislation. Annexes of Plant Quarantine Regulation; Annex I: Harmful organisms that are subject to quarantine and that hinder importation Annex II: Harmful organisms that are subject to quarantine and that hinder importation in case they are found on some plants or plant products Annex III: Plants, plant products and growing medium, introduction of which are banned Annex IV: Special requirements for importation of plants and plant products Annex V: Plants And Plant Products That Must Be Accompanıed By a Phytosanıtary Certıfıcate 9

12 According to Plant Quarantine Regulation plant and plant products to be imported needs to be: - Not contaminated with harmful organisms according to Annex-1 and Annex-2 - Not to be listed in the list (Annex 3) of prohibited products. - Needs to fulfil the special requirements stated in Annex-4 12

36 For Mediterranean Fruit Fly (Ceratitis Capitata) strict control measures are implemented in our country and is scheduled as a quarantine factors made the fight. In our country the Mediterranean Fruit Fly cherry (Prunus avium L.) hasn t been confirmed as a host or as a loss. Therefore there is no need for Mediterranean Fruit Fly work free field work for cherry production. Cherry production is mostly carried out in general in our country's inland areas where continental climate is dominant. 36

39 Cherries produced in Turkey are exported to many countries, including European Union countries. Exports are conducted in accordance with the quarantine regulations of the receiving country. Up to this day no notification has been recieved. If the importer deemes appropriate, US Department of Agriculture (USDA) introduced by cold applications T107-A can be applied for the countries exports. Treatment: T107-a Cold treatment Temperature 34 F (1.11 C) or below 35 F (1.67 C) or below 36 F (2.22 C) or below Exposure Period 14 days 16 days 18 days 39
