GENERAL OBJECTIVES a) Know the elementary contents that provide a general and critical view of the role of nutrition in the area of nutritional pathology. b) Identify the diseases that have a nutritional etiology, as well as their diagnosis, development, symptomatology and prevention. c) Analyze the repercussions and the influence exerted by lifestyle on human nutritional pathology. d) Know the techniques for the evaluation of the specific nutritional status of the individual in the pathological area. e) Apply knowledge about nutrition and healthy lifestyle for health promotion. f) Learn how to perform a quality bibliographic search through relevant databases and search engines in the area of study. g) Provide the tools and strategies necessary for the acquisition of study habits, organization and time management. h) To generate in the students a spirit of personal improvement, responsibility and dedication. i) Promote the ability to work independently and develop personal skills through the cooperation of teamwork. j) Provide the necessary tools for the issuance of critical judgments based on scientific foundations that allow them to function adequately in the clinical setting. BASIC AND GENERAL COMPETENCES Weighting of the competition CB2 - That students know how to apply their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional manner and have the skills that are usually demonstrated through the elaboration and defense of arguments and the resolution of problems within their area of study CB3 - That students have the ability to gather and interpret relevant data (usually within their area of study) Page 4 of 15 Catholic University of Valencia San Vicente Mártir
5 CG13 - Integrate and evaluate the relationship between food and nutrition in health status and in pathological situations. CG26 - Elaborate, control and cooperate in the planning of menus and diets adapted to the characteristics of the group to which they are going destined. CG14 - Apply scientific knowledge of physiology, physiopathology, nutrition and nutrition to planning and advice diet in individuals and communities, throughout the life cycle, both healthy and sick. SPECIFIC COMPETENCES 2 CE14 - Interpret and manage the databases and tables of food composition. CE25 - Apply the Food Sciences and Nutrition to the dietetic practice. CE27 - Evaluate and calculate the nutritional requirements in health situation and disease at any stage of the life cycle. CE30 - Know, detect early and evaluate quantitative and qualitative deviations due to excess or defect, from the nutritional balance. CE32 - Know the physiopathological aspects of diseases related to nutrition. - Interpret and integrate the clinical, biochemical and pharmacological data in the nutritional assessment of the patient and in their dietetic-nutritional treatment. CE42 - Plan and carry out dietetic-nutritional education programs in healthy and sick subjects. CE36 - Apply the bases of clinical nutrition to diet therapy. CE33 - Identify the patient's dietary-nutritional problems, as well as risk factors and inappropriate practices. CE31 - Plan, perform and interpret the evaluation of the nutritional status of subjects and / or groups, both healthy (in all physiological situations) and sick. 2 Follow correlatively with the previous numbering. The specific competences are weighted from 1 to 4 following the same criteria as with the transversal ones. List correlatively the learning results following the proposed nomenclature. Important note: The competences are expressed in a generic sense so it is necessary to include learning results in the teaching guide. These results constitute a concretion of one or several competences, making explicit the degree of mastery or performance that the student must acquire and contain in their formulation the criteria with which they are going to be evaluated. The learning results show what the student will be able to demonstrate at the end of the subject or subject and also reflect the degree of acquisition of the competence or set of competences.
