COURSE OBJECTIVES LEARNING OUTCOMES Describe the principles and theories of specific methods and techniques of physiotherapy in traumatology and orthopedics related to immobilization and proprioceptive neuromuscular retraining. Identify physiological and structural changes that may occur as a result of the application of specific methods and techniques of physiotherapy in traumatology and orthopedics related 2

3 to immobilization and proprioceptive neuromuscular retraining. Describe Identify indications and contraindications derived from the administration of specific methods and techniques of physiotherapy in traumatology and orthopedics related to immobilization and proprioceptive neuromuscular retraining. Select the technique of different methods and specific physiotherapy in traumatology and orthopedics related to immobilization and proprioceptive neuromuscular retraining best at all times and technical body region. Apply different methods and specific techniques of physiotherapy in traumatology and orthopedics related to immobilization and proprioceptive neuromuscular retraining. 4. TEACHING METHODOLOGY OF THE COURSE TRAINING ACTIVITIES Theoretical class : Theoretical classes prioritize the transmission of information from the teacher, requiring prior preparation or further study of the theme, as well as the participation of students in the reasoned interpretation of knowledge and sources of the study area, always with the assistance of the teacher. Academic tutoring : Training activity preferably focused on the powers of knowledge acquisition, acquisition of learning skills and communication of knowledge. Classroom practice: This practical activity, taught in a laboratory, addresses the contents and practical skills. The following learning activities will be developed: working with anatomical models; working in pairs; using instruments or equipment and practice notebook. Work of synthesis: Mainly skills training focused on correctly interpreting and using information and relevant data, acquisition of learning and knowledge communication skills. 3

4 5. ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING 1.- CLASS ATTENDANCE: In order to complete a continuous evaluation, the students must attend a minimum of 75% of lectures. Attendance checks will be made. Justification of non-attendance will not be accepted since the student is allowed to miss 25% of lectures. Attendance at practical classes is obligatory at 100%. 2.- EVALUATION CRITERIA: ORDINARY EXAMINATION. CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT: The final mark of the subject will be calculated from the 50% of the theoretical score with the remaining 50% obtained from the practical block. Therefore, as these percentages are applied, it is essential to have passed both parts with a mark equal to or greater than 5. Evaluation of theoretical section: This block can be pass in two ways, by continuous assessment or by ordinary examination. Continuous assessment: Two partial tests were conducted throughout the semester. These partial tests contain multiple choice questions and / or short questions and / or resolution of clinical cases. The mean note of these tests will be 60% of the final mark of the theoretical block. Various activities throughout the semester are realized, the student must submit or solve in class. Of these activities, 40% of the final mark of the theoretical block will be obtained. Therefore, as these percentages are applied, it is essential to have passed both parts with a mark equal to or greater than 5. Ordinary examination: Students who do not pass the continuous assessment, will be able to conduct an ordinary examination which will be 100% of the final mark of the theoretical block. Evaluation of the practical section: This block can be pass in two ways, by continuous assessment or by a final compilation exam. Continuous assessment: At the end of the practical period a practical exam is performed, which will mean 70% of the final mark of the practical block. During the practical period, various activities and practical issues are made, together with the assessment based on teacher records, accounting for 30% of the final mark of the practical block. To apply these percentages, the student must obtain a score equal to 5 or higher on the practical exam.

5 Final compilation exam: Students who do not pass the continuous assessment, will have possibility of a final compilation exam in the ordinary exam period will constitute 100% of the grade of the practical block. EXTRAORDINARY EXAMINATION Students who fail the subject in the ordinary examination will present for the extraordinary evaluation final exam. To pass the subject is necessary that both the theoretical and practical block presented a score equal to or greater than 5. The final mark of the subject is 50% of that obtained in the theoretical block and 50% of that obtained in the practical block. Extraordinary theoretical block test: o These tests contain multiple choice questions and / or short questions and / or resolution of clinical cases. Extraordinary practice test: o A practical exam is performed. 3.- FINAL EVALUATION OF STUDENT: ORDINARY EXAMINATION Theoretical block 50% Practical block 50% THEORETICAL BLOCK Partial tests contain multiple choice questions and / or short questions and / or resolution of clinical cases 60% Activities submit or solve in class 40% PRACTICAL BLOCK Practical exam 70% Activities and practical issues 30% EXTRAORDINARY EXAMINATION Theoretical block 50% 5
