4 Physical Education & Sport Sciences Degree STUDY GUIDE PHYSIOLOGY OF EERCISE Previous requirements: There are not established. OBJECTIVES a. Understand and integrate the specific processes in the discipline of human physiology. b. Understand and apply the concept of response to exercise. c. Meet the demands that the body requires physical exercise. d. Bring to the responses generated in the body. e. Knowledge of the mechanisms of the organism to exercise. f. Understand the external ergogenic aids and develop a critical and objective about them. g. Involve the Professional Physical Education in multidisciplinary teams. GENERAL COMPETENCES Competence weighting Functional competences CG1-Understanding scientific literature in English and other important languages widely used in the scientific field achieving a good management of information. CG2 Applying Communications and Information Technology(CIT). CG3.-Developing problem-solving competences through decision making. In addition, in order to perform the oral test, the test must have been previously approved Overcome 5 pts between the various sections of the evaluation (except attendance) In the rest of competences, the student will be evaluated again in the extraordinary enrolment (repetition of the theoretical and practical exam and presentation of the team work). Students whose do not reach the minimum requirements in any assessment section but they reach the mean of 5 pts, they will be pointed with 4.5 pts. In this case, the skills overcome will be stored in the following calls, until the 5th call (not included). Only collect the work on the date set by the teacher. Those students who do not take the oral and test type tests, will be graded with a "not presented" (NP), regardless of having the other competencies approved. Criteria for granting a grade of A with honors: Summation of qualifications exceeding 9 pts., in order of number of UCV granting (no. Students). 10

BLOCK II - Rating ergometer, general principles. - Oxygen consumption: concept, applications and physiological basis. - Transition aerobic - anaerobic. BLOCK III - Physiological aspects in special populations: women in sport, in childhood, adolescence and the elderly. - Physiological adaptations in different physical properties: strength, endurance, speed and flexibility. These sessions will be organised according to students needs in order to strengthen their competences and give them the tools to handle with the subject. Content assessment will follow the official schedule. These sessions are shown in the specific temporal organization of this subject 12
