From this point, where GALILEO is mentioned, the information also applies to Flanker and Oranis. Important information and restrictions IMPORTANT INFORMATION Field of use: FOR USE ONLY AS AN AGRICULTURAL FUNGICIDE. Crops Maximum Maximum Latest time individual number of of application dose treatments Wheat, barley 1 l/ha 2 per crop GS 71 oats (grain watery ripe) Oilseed rape 1 l/ha 1 per crop GS 67 (flowering declining, majority of petals fallen) Other specific restrictions: To reduce the risk of resistance developing in target diseases the total number of applications of product containing Qol fungicides made to any cereal crop must not exceed two. READ THE LABEL BEFORE USE. USING THIS PRODUCT IN A MANNER THAT IS INCONSISTENT WITH THE LABEL MAY BE AN OFFENCE. FOLLOW THE CODE OF PRACTICE FOR USING PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCTS. 138 Galileo /Flanker /Oranis fungicides

Restrictions Do not apply to crops under stress. Do not apply during frosty weather. Do not apply more than 2 applications of Qol-containing products to cereals. Following crop restrictions There are no following crop restrictions. General information GALILEO contains picoxystrobin, a broad-spectrum cereal fungicide from the strobilurin group. It has unique mobility properties: systemic, translaminar and preventative properties and is vapour active. Picoxystrobin and other strobilurin analogues inhibit fungal respiration. Their mode of action is different from the action of other fungicidal groups and there is no known crossresistance to this mode of action in pathogens which have developed reduced sensitivity to other fungicides. It is, therefore, ideal for alternation or mixture with fungicides with other modes of action. GALILEO shows good crop safety, disease control and maintenance of green leaf area which results in significant yield benefits. fungicides Galileo /Flanker /Oranis 139

Directions for use In CEREALS Crops/varieties and timing GALILEO may be used on all recommended varieties of winter and spring wheat, winter and spring barley and winter and spring oats. It may also be applied to barley undersown with grass/clover. Apply from before or at disease onset up to and including grain watery ripe stage (GS 71). GALILEO is accepted by the BBPA for use on crops for malting. Crop safety GALILEO is safe to recommended crops if used as directed. In OILSEED RAPE Crops/varieties and timing GALILEO may be used on all recommended varieties of oilseed rape. For optimal control of Sclerotinia, GALILEO should be applied as a protectant spray during flowering. The optimal timing is early to mid flowering (GS 60-63) but it may be used up to flowering declining, majority of petals fallen (GS 67). Good agricultural practice encourages GALILEO to be applied when bees are less active i.e. early morning or late evening. Rate of use in cereals and oilseed rape Apply GALILEO at 1.0 l/ha in cereals and oilseed rape. On cereal crops, GALILEO must always be used in mixture with another product of a different cross resistance group in order to avoid any disease resistance developing. Rates used in cereals may be subject to adjustment depending on variety, tank-mix partner and disease pressure. For optimal control in oilseed rape it is advantageous to maintain the rate at 1.0 l/ha. 140 Galileo /Flanker /Oranis cereals/oilseed rape

Application Apply in litres of water /ha as a MEDIUM spray quality at a pressure of at least 2 bar. In dense crops, increase the water volume to 250 to 300 litres /ha to improve coverage. Avoid spray drift onto neighbouring crops. Limit to number of applications Wheat, barley and oats 2 per crop. Oilseed rape 1 per crop. Weather Rainfall within 2 hours of application may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. Soil Apply under good growing conditions with adequate soil moisture. Avoid poor growing conditions, which may give less reliable results. cereals/oilseed rape Galileo /Flanker /Oranis 141

Resistance management GALILEO contains picoxystrobin, a member of the QoI cross resistance group. GALILEO should be used preventatively and should not be relied on for its curative potential. Use GALILEO as part of an Integrated Management (ICM) strategy incorporating other methods of control, including where appropriate other fungicides with a different mode of action. Not more than 2 foliar applications of QoI-containing products should be applied to any cereal crop. There is significant risk of widespread QoI resistance occurring in Septoria tritici populations in the UK. Failure to follow resistance management action may result in reduced levels of disease control. Strains of powdery mildew resistant to QoI fungicides are common in the UK. Disease control may be reduced if strains of pathogens less sensitive to picoxystrobin develop. GALILEO must always be used in mixture with another product, that is recommended for the control of the same target disease. It should contain a fungicide from a different cross resistance group and should be applied at a dose that will give robust control. Users should refer to the FRAG-UK guidelines for QoI compounds. Diseases controlled Wheat: Septoria tritici, Leptosphaeria (syn. Septoria) nodorum, yellow rust (moderate control), brown rust, ear diseases, eyespot *(reduction). *Eyespot: Barley: Oats: When applied for the control of other diseases at early stem extension, GALILEO gives some reduction of Eyespot. However, GALILEO alone must not be relied upon for Eyespot control and should be used in tank-mixture with an appropriate fungicide partner where crops are at risk. Net blotch, brown rust, powdery mildew, Rhynchosporium. Crown rust, powdery mildew. Oilseed Rape: Sclerotinia. 142 Galileo /Flanker /Oranis fungicides

Recommendations GALILEO is best used as a protectant treatment or in the earliest stages of disease development. The length of disease control is generally about four to six weeks during the period of active stem elongation, but can be more when applied at flag leaf/ear emergence. Always inspect crops to assess disease development immediately before spraying. Best results will be achieved from applications made as a protectant treatment or in the earliest stages of disease development following a disease risk assessment or the use of appropriate decision support systems. GALILEO is less persistent against Yellow Rust than other foliar diseases. Typically control of this disease is maintained for 3 to 4 weeks. Persistence will be improved through tank-mixture with an appropriate fungicide. For protection against ear diseases (Glume blotch, Cladosporium, Alternaria, Mycosphaerella) apply GALILEO with an appropriate fungicide partner at full ear emergence (GS 59). Compatibility Refer to Compatibility appendix. Mixing Ensure that the sprayer is clean and correctly set to give an even application at the required volume. Half-fill the spray tank with clean water and start agitation. Shake the container and add the required amount of GALILEO to the sprayer using a filling device (e.g. induction bowl or closed transfer unit) or by direct addition to the sprayer tank. Continue to agitate throughout the spraying operation. Do not leave the spray liquid in the sprayer for long periods (such as during meal breaks or overnight). Spray tank clean out Thoroughly wash out sprayer according to manufacturers guidelines and dispose of washings and clean containers according to DEFRA Code of Practice and local Water Authority guidelines. fungicides Galileo /Flanker /Oranis 143
