3 Page 3 3 rd Insights Evidence and Outcomes in THA and TKA June 2018 Welcome message Dear Delegate, Welcome to London and the 3rd Insights Meeting on Evidence and Outcomes in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty. Whilst we have started this series of educational events in 2013 with the meeting in Copenhagen, focusing on the future of both hip and knee repair and reconstruction, the 2016 edition in Amsterdam did exclusively focus on knee arthroplasty. Given the recent developments in orthopaedic reconstruction over the last years, both on the scientific and technological side, hip and knee deserve a joint approach in this meeting. Evidence and Outcomes in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty will not only look at daily practice, but also encompasses areas of larger interest, allowing for a deep dive into important topics in these areas. The addition of the Sports Medicine symposium on Friday allows for a larger outlook and for a holistic approach to those aspects. This educational activity gives you the opportunity to connect with peers and friends to ensure exchange of expertise and experience with a highly international faculty and audience. Almost 500 of your peers from 46 countries are onsite to engage in this learning opportunity, for which the Chairmen have invested significant time, allowing for discussion of various approaches to the treatment of your patients. For more than 160 years, Smith & Nephew has served as a leader in the healthcare industry. We have built a rich history through our commitment to innovation and professional education. During this event, we want to show you our support in your continuous strive for a better outcome and patient treatment. I am looking forward to an exciting symposium with many hours of fruitful discussions and interactions. Yours sincerely, María Jesús Barrenechea Senior Vice President Professional Education International Markets

4 Page 4 Description This meeting will bring together international Health Care Professionals (HCPs) to review the latest developments, research and evidence in hip and knee reconstruction. The interactive agenda will cover a diverse array of hip and knee surgical topics with the aim of improving patient outcomes and promoting best practice. The programme will combine scientific lectures and interactive, high level clinical discussions on hip and knee arthroplasty to ensure an optimal learning experience. A world class faculty will update you, challenge your practice and your thinking, and uncover new evidence and insights, with the aim of improving the quality of life of all our patients.
