2 2 6 t h Bavarian-Bohemian AOTrauma Symposium 2016, Regensburg Welcome in Regensburg Dear Colleagues, we would like to invite you to the 6 th Bavarian-Bohemian AO Symposium 2016 Complex cases and complications in trauma of the skeleton in Regensburg, Germany. We have all seen patients, who have injuries that are so complex that following traditional therapy guidelines does not always lead to successful results. Consequently, the only way for these patients to recover is through creative and experience-based therapy. This kind of therapy is based on the wealth of experience of each surgeon and gives surgeons room to develop creative solutions. It also requires accurate planning and professional implementation. Since there is little to no evidence for such cases, we always move into a legal gray area. Therefore the sword of Damocles of the prosecutor always influences our decisions. We would like to create a platform for unconventional and interdisciplinary solutions in primary or revision surgeries of the skeleton, in order to inspire discussion on this topic with renowned experts. In this forum you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your difficult cases and present your considerations and approaches. Let us share our common experiences, discuss complex patient cases and learn from each other. And let s talk openly about the complications we encounter and our solutions to preserve our patients.
