The program will give hands-on skills training for advanced airway management (including effective PPV, LMA and intubation), umbilical venous lines and interosseous fluid resuscitation options. Hi-fidelity simulation participation and discussion will be utilized to give practical exposure to the management of acutely unwell children ranging from newborn to adolescent using a team approach in an emergency department setting.
2 OVERALL CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES: Identify screening methods and tools to aid in the diagnosis of common health issues in children and describe evidence-based management of these issues. Identify when to refer and available resources for management. Update practitioners on changes in practice guidelines that affect children.
