1 General Inf ormation Examination Date: Closing Date for Application: Examination Venue: Examination Fee: For 2018 June diet 20 th September th September 2018 (Reserved) 10 th August 2018 Function Room 1, 2/F, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Jockey Club Building, 99 Wong Chuk Hang Road, Hong Kong HK$5,000 1 Scope of Examination 1.1 The PEEM of the Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine is an examination to assure proficient medical knowledge as imitative to emergency medicine training. 1.2 The PEEM test candidates with emphasis on applied clinical science for emergency medicine (2) Fo rmat of Examination The examination consists of ONE section: 2.1 Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) (2.5 hours) 2.2 The section would be conducted in English 2.3 Example questions can be available from HKCEM PEEM website for reference (3) Certification 3.1 The passing mark will be decided by the PEEM committee of each diet and further adjustment may be necessary in light of the cohort performance during the examination. 3.2 Successful candidates in the examination will receive a notification letter certifying the success in the Primary Examination in Emergency Medicine of Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine. (4) Eligibility of Application 4.1 Holder of basic medical degree(s) or qualification(s) Page 1 of 6
2 (5) Application Procedure 5.1 Please send the following documents on or before the Deadline to: Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine Room 809, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, 99 Wong Chuk Hang Road, Aberdeen, Hong Kong Properly completed Application Form, Two recent photographs, Certified true copies of relevant documents and The cheque or bank remittance with full amount of the fee paid by Account Payee Only payable to Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine. (6) Refund Policy 6.1 Applicants withdrawing from the PEEM must apply in prior writing. 6.2 The paid examination fee may be refunded, less 10% administrative charges, where written notice is received by the Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine prior to the closing date for the receipt of applications. 6.3 After that date no refund will normally be made to candidates who withdraw from the examination or fail to attend for any reason whatsoever. No allowance will be made for postal or other delays. 6.4 Applicants who have submitted their applications but subsequently found to be not eligible to sit for the examination will have their fee refunded after 10% of the examination fee has been levied as administrative charge. 6.5 No change can be made after the dates for the examination have been allocated. 6.6 Applicants who are entitled to a refund will have their money returned on completion of the examination for which they have entered.
