7 The student is not entitled to a refund on any course material received prior to the student withdrawing from the course (e.g. printed correspondence modules & TFH course manual, ICPKP licenses). Students are required to put any request for a refund of any course fees in writing. Withdrawal after commencement of the training: Once the training has commenced, no refund is available to students who leave before the completion of the course. Students who pay by instalments have enrolled for the full course and come under the same refund policy. They will be liable for the full course fee. Students who have certified medical reasons or personal hardship may apply to IIKA for special consideration. If your application is accepted, IIKA will consider refunding a portion of the course fee in relation to those components raining that have not been started by the student, less an administration fee of $ 250. Deferment: There is no opportunity for deferment as this is the last time we are offering this unique training package as a Fast track qualification. Important Notes: Class times are from 9.00 am 6.00 pm (lunch break: pm) N1: First Aid Certificate is not included in the course fee. We recommend the RTO, N2: all late payments will incur an administration fee of $ 50. N3: Classes will commence subject to numbers and IIKA has the right to cancel the course due to insufficient enrolments or other unforeseen circumstances. N4: Wear comfortable clothing and bring layers during the cooler winter months. The venue is air conditioned. N5: Bring a pencil, coloured markers and a note pad. N6: Class attendance: it is a requirement to attend at least 80% of all face to face classes to achieve competence for each module. If you have an absolutely unavoidable appointment during class times and have to leave or miss an entire day as a result of this appointment, you are obliged to inform the college at least 10 days prior. Presentation of a medical certificate for non-attendance to sickness is required. N7: In case of non-attendance of any entire face to face module, the student is required to make up the missed competencies at their own expense and the fee associated with this is $ 250 per day. 8 N8: other expenses during the course: anatomy textbook Essentials of Human Anatomy & Physiology (Elaine Marieb) for Anatomy & Physiology correspondence module (second hand copy ok) and a massage table (ideally height adjustable). N9: Students are expected to be proactive and organise their own clients for balancing in the compulsory supervised student clinics on campus. Please confirm with your teacher at least 7 days prior by SMS. N10: Student clinic attendance is compulsory to meet the current competency requirements with the AKA. If you miss any of the 20 supervised student clinic sessions, you are required to organise a one on one coaching session with your Clinical Supervisor at your own expense. $160 per 90-minute coaching slot. N11: We recommend a minimum of 7 hours of home study time per week to manage the practical home study components and correspondence modules. 10 WHAT EXACTLY IS SPECIALISED KINESIOLOGY & KINESIOPRACTIC CARE? Kinesiology is a unique holistic therapy and a synthesis of the ancient Chinese acupuncture system and meridians, modern chiropractic, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, counselling and the subtle energy bodies (chakras). It works to promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Muscle testing is a reliable biofeedback system enabling the practitioner to gauge unresolved stress responses from the central nervous system. Kinesiology identifies the factors which may be blocking the body s natural healing process such as stress, sensitivities to food and environment, nutritional deficiencies and emotional issues to name but a few. The human neurology is an adaptive self-regulating system. When we are unable to adapt efficiently to a situation, a food or any kind of external stimulus, the unlocking muscle response will show the stress in the central nervous system. The practitioner is like a detective looking for blockages and scrambled signals in the brain, the subconscious and the body systems and communicates with the person s innate intelligence (innate wisdom). Through non-invasive gentle stimulation of meridians, specific reflex points and other specialised techniques we can restore balance and homeostatis to the interface between organs/muscles and meridians. This is called Functional Neurology. The basic paradigm of kinesiology is that our health consists of three main elements, structural (your muscular/skeletal system), mental/emotional (your belief systems, feelings and values) and biochemical (what goes on on a cellular level and the nutrients your body receives or doesn t receive).
