1 STUDYING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PSYCHOLOGICAL HARDINESS AND JOB BURNOUT WITH EMPLOYEES' MENTAL HEALTH IN MEDICAL COLLEGE OF KERMAN CITY Moammad Ziaaddini 1 and Aazam Paran 2 1 Islamic Azad Univity, Rafsanjan City, Iran 2 Depatme of Governme Manageme, Human Resources (M.A), Islamic Azad Univity, Rafsanjan City, Iran *Autor for Correspondence ABSTRACT Tis researc aims to study te between psycologic ardiness and job burnout wit employees' me et in medic college of Kerman City in Researc metodology is descriptive and of cor ones. Statistic society includes l employees of Kerman medic college (cer region) coaining 1115 people from wic people are selected by Coacrane formula as statistic society. Informa is gatered using tree quesnaires of psycologic ardiness, job burnout and me et for wic vidity is relatively accepta in previous researces and reliability is accoued using Kronbace Alpa metod 0.854, and respectively. SPSS software is used to anyze data. Researc importa data explains tat tere is a positive between psycologic ardiness wit its dimensions, corol and clenging wit me et and tere is a negative between job burnout wit dimensions of emo exaus, pessimism, noninfluencing and feeling of weakness wit me et. Finly some suggess are preseed for researc. Keywords: Psycologic Hardiness, Job Burnout, Me Het, Astrocytes, Cortex, Neuroprotective Factors INTRODUCTION Hard-facing as a ponity caracteristics pois to one's resist to stress. Using existeiism teory in ponity Kobasa defines ard-facing as a combina of beliefs about self and world (Haqiqi et., 2005). Brave people are resista against stressful eves and feel enoug corol on wat appens for tem. As a result tey ave less me proms to ot and can easily play an organizing role; tey are so less suscepti to disappoime, depression and pysic diseases (Clion & Lambert, 1999). In te way of adaptability wit soci and job environme employees are forced to bear some limitas and stresses as tese stresses prese in work place lead to employees' job burnout. Job burnout is defined as exaus resulted from pressures prese in work place, in addi to symptoms and states of being exausted, disillusionme and witdraw in employees (Alavi et., 2010). Me et is today as one of main criteria to evuate society's et and certainly plays an importa role in its efficiency and developme. Me et as directly or indirectly related to correct func of me compones ref to ig order of activities and includes wat is explained in defini of et by World Het Organiza, pysic, me, soci and spiritu well-being but not just lack of disease (Sana, 2013). Promoting me et of work environme is as one of te most importa dimension to develop and improve uman resources and organizas' atteion to pysic and me et forces in rece decades as influenced increasing efficiency level of economic, educa and industri institus. Human sould adapt iern and environme canges, meanwile pysiologic and non-pysiologic needs sould be met to preserve et in te ever-canging world. Unfavora soci and environme condis are of importa stressful factors for me et. Human's et can cange because of stress and cause to pysic and me imb (Alavi et., 2010). Job environmes and condis of work environme were recely considered to improve employees' work quity, preserve teir pysic and me et and to use work years more and well (Alavi & Jannati, Copyrigt 2014 Cere for Info Bio Tecnology (CIBTec) 1571
2 2010). Unfavora soci and environme condis are of importa stressful factors for me et. Human's et can cange because of stress and cause to pysic and me imb (Cooper et., 1990). Job exaus was first used by Green in 1961 and ten Berger explained job burnout in 1974 and used it to describe some syndromes including job exaus and resigna; e defines it as "states of emo and pysic discarge" resulted in work and preseed some teories to treat and preve job burnout (Alavi et., 2010). Job burnout produces cronic pressure resulted from an imb and eterogeneity between worker and job. Hig perce of organizas' employees and employ bear tis symptom and is increasingly considered by researc and organizas' manag because of decreasing teir work ability in addi to low efficiency. Tis symptom makes so some proms for family life out of work environme. Efficiency decreasing, job non-satisfac, low public et and low resist and bearing are as consequences of job burnout (Narimani, 2010). Natur disast are followed by psycologic tensions wic are related to pysic and me diseases. Psycologic ardiness belongs to varias wic can modify tensions and teir terri results. Caracteristics of psycologic ardiness suc as ig curiosity, desire to ave ieresting and meaningful experiences, being influenced and energetic and canging life as a natur affair can be useful in one's agreeme wit life stressful eves. Psycologic ardiness as an iern resist resource, decreases negative effects of stress and preve emerging pysic and me proms (Raimian & Asgarnejad, 2009). Me et is an insepara and necessary part of et and is a state of well-being in wic one (me/feme) perceives is/er abilities, can adapt natur stressors of life, works efficiely and can elp society. In tis positive defini, me et is a principle of individu well-being and effective func of a society. Weak me et relates to stressful work condis, sexu discrimina, soci depriva, unety life style, aggression, pysic disease and violating man rigts (Hamid, 2012). Also exaus syndrome is concerated on by researces and psycologists. Hig perce of organizas' employees and employ bear tis symptom and is increasingly considered by researc and organizas' manag because of decreasing teir work ability in addi to low efficiency. Tis symptom makes so some proms for family life out of work environme. Efficiency decreasing, job dissatisfac, low public et and low resist and bearing are as consequences of job burnout (Narimani, 2010). Meanwile, in a researc Sown et., conclude tat ard people, facing stressful motives, ask temselves if it is vua to face stressful motives coinuly; if tey accept tat it is vua, tey'll try to make more positive activities indirectly by applying speci strategies. Wile noting ave enoug desire to operate, ard people actively try to involve strategies wic make more ieresting funcs (Emadi et., 2009). Self-accept and self-love (Waeit, 2001) and canging to a pon wo is ety and appy pysicly and mely, bd socily, conscious politicly, productive economicly and responsi culturly, l are properties of me et and belong to cases related to psycologic ardiness conceptuly. Kobasa defines ard-facing as a combina of beliefs about self and world structured by tree compones of commitme, corol and clenge (Sirbeem et., 2010). Results of te researc are importa because me et is base of well-being and effective func of a pon in society and so organiza and increases one's ability to make bd and coordinated communica, ability to cange and improve surrounded soci environme and using proper and logic solus to solve pon conflicts and desires. Also, job burnout tat many employees and work bear in organiza causes to decrease teir work ability and as a result low efficiency. In corast people's psycologic ardiness tat includes a set of pon caracteristics, acts as armor against life stressful eves to make people resista against canges and tensions. Researc Main Objectives 1-Recognizing and describing between employees' psycologic ardiness and me et in Kerman medic college Copyrigt 2014 Cere for Info Bio Tecnology (CIBTec) 1572
3 2- Recognizing and describing between employees' job burnout and me et in Kerman medic college Human faces sever ups and downs of life, as every day new eves are observed. Some of tese proms and eves are negligi and insignifica and don't cause any prom; naturly it isn't necessary to adapt tem. In corast some proms and matt make some canges in life and confuse one's routine life were it is necessary to readapt tose (Hasanzade et., 2012). In a ceury wit ig volume of me stress and pressure were l people are involved, l knows wat stress is and wat does me pressure do wit people. It is l felt and perceived in te same way. But it is quesa tat ow muc everyone can bear stress. Pon caracteristics forming ardiness include: commitme, corol and clenge (Raimian & ASgarnejad, 2009). Job burnout is a word to describe transforma of attitude, spirit and beavior to negative side and facing me pressures related to work. Tis exaus emerges more in jobs for wic people consume muc time to communicate ot. Muslec et., (2001) describe job burnout as a poi were clengea, meaningful and importa work canges to unpleasa, insignifica and unsatisfying work. In oter words, energy is replaced by exaus, affec by suspicion and effectiveness by ineffectiveness. Job burnout is in fact a kind of me exaus tat is accompanied by me pressures or stresses related to job and work environme (Hamid et., 2012). Gobari et., in a researc study four compones effective on producing job burnout tat include emo exaus, pessimistic, lack of effecting and feeling of weakness (Gobari, 2005). Man environme includes pysic, soci and me factors affecting uman ety. One of tese factors is work place because people consume muc time to do teir job daily. In fact everyone's work quity relates to is/er spirits. Sometimes extra me pressures make people impatie as it is perceived tat tey're not suita for teir job. In tis state, a negative attitude is created to self and job and public et is negatively influenced (Hosseini, 2012). Main purpose of me et is elping l people to get more complete, appier, more coordinated life and recognizing mor, emo and beavior proms in addi to preveing tem. Governmes and people in society are mainly responsi for preveing me disease to make a et society and demanding people's well-being and appiness needs to grow compati and coordinated people (Milanifar, 2009). Regarding public quesnaire of me et approved by psycologists, compones of me et can be divided to four subsces including: pysic signs, anxiety, disorder in soci func and depression. Researc History Studying between ardiness and stress Kobasa (1994) found tat me manag aving ig degree of ardiness in spite of facing stressful eves troug life are less affected by disease and are more et. Findings sow tat people aving low ard-facing are more influenced by negative effects of stress. It is sown tat psycologic ardiness can predict me et (Ouellette, 1992). Matis & Lecci (1999), so conclude tat ardiness is a better predictor varia for me et rater tat pysic et and tere is a negative meaningful cor between ardiness and referring to et ce too (Sirbeem, 2010). Florian et., (1995) in a researc conclude tat ardiness relates to pysic and me et positively and as an iern resist resource decreases negative effects of stress and preves pysic and me disord. Sirbeem et., (2010) in a researc study between studes' me et and psycologic ardiness. Results of teir data anysis sow tat tere is a positive and meaningful between studes' me et and psycologic ardiness and tere is a negative meaningful between compones of me et (pysic signs, anxiety, disorder in soci func and depression) wit studes' psycologic ardiness. Alavi et., (2010) so studied and compared me et and job burnout among employees and work and found reve between two varias; in addi tey sowed tat employees' me et and job burnout are in better condis tan work. Hamid et., (2012) in a researc sowed tat pysicians ave iger emo exaus and metempsycosis of ponity and probably less me et; in addi tey are more sensi to pon results and ave better and more optimistic views to temselves. 4 Westman et., (2001) in a researc studied te between job burnout and me pressure and found tat job burnout affects me pressure resulted from long-time and eavy work. Bouyer et., (2009) in teir researc sowed tat ig me et of Swiss pysicians is accompanied by low emo exaus and ig feelings related to pon results. Takoda et., (2009) in a researc studied te between job exaus and me et. Results sow tat job burnout relates to me et negatively and to job dissatisfac positively. 14 Cart 9: Dispion cart between feeling of weakness and employees' me et in Kerman medic college CONCLUSION Discussion and Conclusion Tis researc aims to study te between psycologic ardiness and job burnout wit employees' me et in medic college of Kerman City in Psycologic ardiness wit compones of commitme, corol and clenging; so job burnout wit compones of emo exaus, pessimistic, lack of effecting and feeling of weakness are as predictor varias. Me et is so as criterion varia. In tis researc me et includes four dimensions of pysic et, anxiety, disorder in soci func and depression. Result of te first ypotesis sows tat tere is a positive and meaningful between employees' psycologic ardiness and me et. Tis result relates to results of Kobasa & Meddi's researc (1994) wo believe patience and its related meanings suc as psycologic ardiness relate to me et and Sirbeem et., (2010) wo believe tere is a positive and meaningful between studes' me et and psycologic ardiness' in addi, Meddi et., wo believe ardiness as a natur factor can increase people's func and me et in spite of experiencing stressful condis and beavior tension; so Ouellette (1992), Matis and Lecci wo believe ardiness can predict me et and Florian et., (1995) wo believe ardiness relates to pysic and me et positively. Also researc results sow tat tere is a reve between employees' commitme wit teir me et. Based on defini as one pon is committed to do a task it means tat e/se accepts responsibility and tries to do tis task well. As a result of tis commitme one may involve me pressures and stress in addi to me proms and lose is/er concera. Finly commitme may cause to decrease people's me et. Researc results sow tat tere is a negative meaningful between employees' job burnout and teir me et. Te results are agreed wit Alavi et., findings (2010) wo believe tere is a negative between job burnout and me et, and wit Hamid et., (2012) wo believe tere is a negative between emo exaus and ponity's metempsycosis wit me et; in addi wit Westmen et., (2001) wo believe job burnout affects bearing me pressure resulted from long-time and eavy work and wit findings of Takoda et., (2009) wo explain ig me et of Swiss pysicians relates low emo exaus negatively. So, it is expected tat increasing employees' job burnout decreases teir me et. Copyrigt 2014 Cere for Info Bio Tecnology (CIBTec) 1584
15 Suggess Results of cor test sows tat tere is a between employees' psycologic ardiness and me et in Kerman medic Regarding approving researc ypoteses following suggess are preseed for employees' me et: Educating employees to confro proms and obstacles in te way of solving people and organiza's proms recognizing pon caracteristics of psycologic ardiness suc as commitme, corol and clenging make employees more resista against pressures and give tem iger me et using tese caracteristics. According to researc ypoteses following cases are suggested to decrease employees' job burnout: Making a safe and cm space for employees to coinue teir activities in tis space wit no stress and me pressures; as a result employees get me et in tese condis and by decreasing job burnout. Also it is suggested to decrease employees' job me proms and make a cm workplace in order to feel less exaus and ave more me et. In addi, some condis are created by educating employees and olding educa classes to make employees powered to corol temselves in order to increase teir me et.
