3 Research interests Investigation of the influence of stress on cognitive functioning in trauma-related disorders such as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) using behavioral, neuropsychological, psychophysiological, and neuroimaging methods (task-related and resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging). The impact of dissociation on amygdala activity and amygdala functional connectivity during an Emotional Working Memory Task in BPD and PTSD. The neural correlates of emotional working memory performance in patients with complex PTSD (after interpersonal violence during childhood) before and after therapy (DBT- PTSD therapy versus Cognitive Processing Therapy) (part of the RELEASE project). The effect of an Emotional Working Memory Training on emotion regulation in BPD (collaboration project with Dr. Tim Dalglesh and Dr. Susanne Schweitzer, Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, Cambridge, UK; PhD project of Julia-Caroline Walther).
