Bobby Caruthers 01/24/ :05 Wildwood, FL 01/24/13 OPERATION STREET SWEEPER At 5:30 AM, January 24, 2013 the Sumter County Sheriff s Office with the assistance of the Wildwood Police Department began picking up fugitives as a result of a recent undercover investigation. This six month investigation (Operation Street Sweeper) targeted narcotic dealers throughout Sumter County. The Special Investigations Unit made undercover narcotic purchases for cocaine, methamphetamine, crack, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and marijuana. Arrests for this operation began in the early part of January and have resulted in 25 arrests to date. Sheriff Bill Farmer states Drug enforcement has been a priority since I took office and will continue to be as long as I am Sheriff. We have all seen how drugs destroy lives. It also leads to other crimes such as thefts and burglaries. Listed below are the subjects arrested as of this time: SHELDON R.
