1 STOKES COUNTY SHERIFF S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE Incident: Operation "Generation Decline" Date: Time: 5:00am Victim(s) NC (Name) (Address) (Name) (Juvenile names not listed) (Address) (Personal address not listed) Location of Incident: various Name and address of person(s) arrested: See Below Court date of first appearance: Bond: See Below Brief description of incident: (Continue on back if necessary) On , officers with the Stokes County Sheriff's Office, along with N.C. A.L.E. officers, met at the Sheriff's Office to begin Operation "Generation Decline". After a briefing, officers were sent out into the communities of Stokes County in attempt to arrest suspected drug dealers and users. Operation "Generation Decline" is an undercover operation that the Stokes County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division had investigated for several months. The Sheriff's Office had assistance from the NC ALE and the Surry County Sheriff's Office during their investigation. All total, 13 suspects face a total of 47 criminal charges. At this time, 10 of the suspects have been arrested with officers following up with information in attempt to arrest the remaining two suspects. Sheriff Mike Marshall called this drug investigation Operation "General Decline" because of the different ages of suspects that were arrested. The suspects have birth dates that range from the 1940's through the 1990's. Marshall stated that this shows how drugs are effecting all generations in our society today. Marshall goes on to say that drugs are not just effecting our younger generation, but our seniors as well. Also, Marshall noted that not just one type of drug was seized but various types of drugs were seized during this operation. We have suspects in Operation "Generation Decline" where at least one person was born in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. It's sad to say, but this proves that drugs do effect everyone. Those arrested thus far in Operation "Generation Decline" are:
