1 ENDOCRINE AND REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEMS MODULE Academic Year Study Guide
2 Objectives of The Endocrine and Reproductive Systems At the end of these systems the students should recognize: 1. The histological profile of thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, pituitary gland, pineal body, pancreas, male and female reproductive systems. 2. The embryological origin, structure, relations, & blood supply of both male and female genital systems. 3. The types, function, regulatory mechanisms & abnormal secretion of hormones of thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, pituitary gland, pineal body and reproductive systems. 4. The causes, macroscopic, microscopic and pathologic pictures of the lesions in thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, pituitary gland, pancreas and reproductive system. 5. The types, mechanism of action, pharmaco-kinetic adverse effects & contraindication of drugs used to treat abnormal increase or decrease in secretion of hormones.
