1 Animal Care Education Training Centres have been set up with the sole purpose of brining short animal care courses to the public in the East Midlands area of the U.K and for developing online courses for the many charity workers around the world.
2 Lecturers Our lecturers Dana Prince NDAM, Cert Ed, MiFl and Carol Bladon, Bsc, PGCE, MiFl have worked in full time education for over 15 years. Dana and Carol are both registered with the Institute for Learning and are fully CRB checked. They have had long careers various fields of animal welfare and management including hydrotherapy, veterinary nursing, research areas, rescue and rehabilitation, zoo management and dog training. Our partners and staff at both centres are also fully qualified in Hydrotherapy and have experience in hydrotherapy and working with dogs and small animals. Our Venue PAWS4 Hydrotherapy Centre, Stapleford, Nottingham Paws4 is registered through CHA, is based on a site with the new tram link terminal, it is also situation next to the A52 with close links to the M1. The centre has a spacious teaching area, with window viewing from the classroom to the hydrotherapy area where there is a pool, spa and dog showering area.
3 Stapleford, Nottingham, NG9 7JA ( Anne Westwood is the owner and practical trainer for the Level 3 Hydrotherapy Course at the Centre, Anne has owned and run this centre for 5 years, with over 10 years in the industry. The pool area has a spa for separate treatments, showering facilities and a hydrotherapy pool designed for maximum control with a harness. The Centre is owned and run by Anne Westwood who is always on hand for advice and to demonstrate techniques and sessions. Anne Westwood has a Bsc (hons) Animal Behaviour degree and has worked in hydrotherapy for over 10 years.
4 161 Rutland Rd, Sheffield S3 9PP Splashy Pups is registered with both CHA and NARCH, run and owned by Kate Clapperton who is a fully qualified Canine Hydrotherapist and Veterinary Physiotherapist. Clients are expected to complete 2 sessions at Splashy pups which will include an individual assessment day. These sessions will help clients gain practical experience in the pool with patients and also to observe the aquatic treadmill in operation. Internal Verification Provided by Melanie Butler Chartered Veterinary Physiotherapist and advises on all aspects of course materials, resources and assessment structure.
5 To achieve the full level 3 qualification there are 10 mandatory units (29 credits). The qualification is overseen by ABC Awarding Body. All units are available separately or in combination at request. This qualification fulfils the training requirements for registration for both NARCH and CHA. Animal Care Education Training offers flexibility in booking the units, it easy to complete all 10 units over a 1 year period or to book certain individual units for CPD purposes or for those clients wishing to improve their CV or to work in a hydrotherapy setting. Any units included in the 3 modules are also available to book separately upon request. Identifying the key properties of water and looking at the intended effects of hydrotherapy treatment on specific common conditions. You will look at various pieces of equipment and have hands on experience of the different facilities. The unit explores the role of the Multidisciplinary team and you will be expected to carry out a written risk assessment of the site. On day three the practical element of the course is introduced. Clients are given opportunity to have hands on access to dogs at PAWS4 using a hoist system, hands on showering and drying of dogs. Two other practical training sessions are then organised at Splashy Pups in Sheffield, for clients to gain experience in the pool with patients and to observe the treadmill being used. Individual assessment day organised with Tutor and Training Centre involved. You will also be given a theory assessment to be submitted at a later date agreed by your tutor.

Identifying common medical condition and exploring how hydrotherapy can help the treatment of common orthopaedic and neurological conditions. An understanding of how animals stand and move is vital for a hydrotherapist and this course covers bones, joints and muscles as well as ligaments and tendons. 11 Starting with water management, this unit is important for anybody working at or considering starting a hydrotherapy pool. You will gain a basic understanding of water management and treatment, looking at water chemistry and the relationship of various chemicals used. Throughout the course of the day you will also have the opportunity to undertake practical sessions. As a hydrotherapist it is important to consider your own role and that of others, the professional practice module explores these roles and discusses the importance of continual profession development. You will also cover underpinning knowledge of the techniques and approaches used by hydrotherapists. Your last day consists of both and practical demonstrations. Exploring how to assess first aid situations and managing them. Looking at key presenting factors of conditions and working within your professional limitations. You will have access to demonstration dogs for taking vital signs and practicing bandaging techniques. You will also have access to Casper and Jerry our CPR dog and cat. You will be assessed in some practical elements on the day of the course along with a theory assessment which you will be expected to hand in on a later date set by your tutor.

13 This unit is both theory and practical demonstrations. Exploring how to assess first aid situations and managing them.
