1 Backstage at the MBT S MONTHLY NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 2015 MBT is Your Home for the Holidays...All of Them! Any night out at the Theatre is a special event, but MBT is making a few of those events extra-special with live performances that are tailor-made for some of our favorite holidays! First things fi rst: Christmas is coming to Bellingham, and so is LeAnn Rimes! The country pop sensation s Today is Christmas Tour on December 5 is a delightful, heartwarming concert featuring Rimes inspiring vocals and selections from her new Christmas album, including Carol of the Bells, I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, What a Wonderful World, and more. In a career spanning two decades, including wide musical crossover success, LeAnn has sold forty-four million albums and won two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards, and Above: Solas - Mar. 17 Embrace your inner Irish on St. Patrick s Day! twelve Billboard Music Awards. Unstoppable from the age of 11, LeAnn was the youngest person to ever win a Grammy Award and was the first country artist to with the Grammy for Best New Artist. LeAnn s supporting guest artist, Ellee Duke, is another prodigy. An artist, songwriter, and guitar phenom, the nineteen yearold has been compared to the likes of John Mayer, Colbie Callait, and Taylor Swift. These ladies touching, whimsical tunes are set against the sheer magic of MBT at Christmastime, when Theatre volunteers lovingly decorate the lobby with twinkling lights, red and green garlands, and, of course, a festive tree. Next, giggle with your Valentine on February 14 with Hooking Up with the Second City, a gaspingly funny modern mix of romance, rancor, and Mount Baker Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profi t organization dedicated to the performing arts.

3 everything in between. One of the most prestigious improv and sketch companies in the nation, the Chicago-based Second City s alumni list is a veritable Who s Who of comedy and includes Bill Murray, John & Jim Belushi, Mike Myers, Steve Carell, Julia Louis- Dreyfus, Ryan Stiles, Tina Fey, Joan Rivers, Stephen Colbert, Harold Ramis, Jason Sudeikis, and so many more. Make mirth out of all the crazy things we do for love. Lastly, embrace your inner Irish on St. Patrick s Day with a rousing performance by Celtic band Solas on March 17. Expect fresh and unexpected arrangements of age-old tunes, compelling and topical originals and covers, and unparalleled musicianship. Solas continues to defi ne the path for the Celtic music world and drive the genre forward, having been hailed by The New York Times for their.unbridled vitality and declared by The Boston Globe to be the fi nest Celtic ensemble this country has ever produced. After nearly 20 years together, Solas shows no sign of slowing down, retaining its image as an incandescent ensemble that continues to fi nd contemporary relevance in timeless traditions. Can t decide between the three performances? You can always ask Santa for a gift certifi cate and keep the holiday season going all year long!
