3 Dear Businesses & Friends, Will there ever be a cure for cancer? Time and time again, people are asking this question. Whether it s someone who is fighting the disease, a family whose lives have been touched by the disease or those who worry that cancer might be in their future, it is on people s minds. The Canadian Cancer Society, with the help of hundreds of volunteers and fundraising organizations, is changing what it means to have cancer. Research is showing we are on the cusp of exponential progress, but we need to continue to push forward and support the research towards finding a cure once and for all. In the future, we will successfully treat cancer, better manage it, or out right prevent it so no Canadian will fear this disease. The Little Black Dress Committee is once again partnering with the Canadian Cancer Society in support of research with the Annual Little Black Dress Gala. This event has been hugely successful raising over $100, for the cause over the last 5 years. The 2018 event will be held on Saturday September 15, 2018 at the Canadian Golf and Country Club. The evening will begin at 5:30pm with cocktails, followed by a served dinner, silent auction, raffles and dancing. There are several ways you can help us make a differences in the lives of so many Canadians: Become a sponsor as outlined in the enclosed sponsorship package Purchase event tickets (sold by the table). Each table holds a maximum of ten people and are $75.00 per person You can support the gala in additional ways by making a monetary or gift-in-kind donation or donate an item/service to be used in the silent auction or to be raffled. 4 The Little Black Dress Committee is made up of a number of passionate women in our community, who stand behind the Canadian Cancer Society and their mission to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life for those who are living and fighting the disease. Together, these women have created a hugely successful ladies-only fundraising event called the Little Black Dress Event. This event is held annually in September where ladies are invited to dust off their fabulous black dresses for a night filled with all kinds of Girlie Glitz and Glamour to raise money for such an amazing cause. Year over year the LBD Committee works tirelessly to plan and organize this amazing event which is attended by women from the Carleton Place and Ottawa region.
