1 Information for parents in the SGA Sandvikens Gymnastikavdelningar Sandvikens Gymnastikavdelningar (SGA) today has approximately 1200 active members and about 45 groups of about 70 highly trained leaders. We are today Sandvikens largest children's and youth club with 745 gymnasts under age 20 who are training in all levels, from playing around to competition gymnastics in high level. Sandvikens Gymnastikavdelningar is a non-profit organization, which means that we must all help to shape and drive the Association. Our Association is large but in everyday life, we are faced as many other compounds to keep the economy in balance and to have enough leaders and officials. As a parent, it is important that you support and encourage your children but we also need your help in the society. Parental duties As we said SGA is a non-profit organization, in order for the Association to work we need the parents help us. This means that: Teamgym & Artistic Gymnastics (Groups that trains in Gymnastikens hus) Each group in the gym is responsible for the cleaning of an area in the Hall. Schedule for cleaning areas are exhibited in the Hall, sent out by and can be found on the website. Two times each semester the gym has a thorough cleaning. Then, every gymnast must be represented by at least one adult (different groups are assigned). Notice of the dates will be sent out via , information is also available on the website. Help at camps and competitions. When the SGA organize competitions/camps/performances our equipment needs to be shipped from Gymnastikens hus to the place in which the activity will take place. At each such arrangement a responsible group will be assigned and at least one adult for every gymnast must be there to help. SGA will also help in different arrangements, for example. Julgalan and this will require that you parents volunteer to help. If the gymnasts in your group will compete at some point, you as a parent must be prepared to drive you child to the current competition. You also have to approve the participant of your child to the coaches, since there is a competitions fee. All children who train in Gymnastikens hus has to sell 5 bingolotter every year in december.
2 Cleaning Gymnastikens hus We are all responsible that our gym are kept clean and fresh. Every group has its own specific cleaning areas. Every responsible leader of the group is responsible for sending out a weekly schedule for cleanliness. The cleaning is divided so that each gymnast receives a week where you are cleaning the area you ve been assigned. Spring cleaning Gymnastikens hus has a thorough cleaning 2 times per semester. At least one person over 15 years per family is expected to attend at least one occasion. Those gymnasts which has no representative will receive an invoice for 250 SEK sent to you. No exceptions will be made. If you can t attend, announce it to sanna@sgakansliet.se at least 1 week prior to cleaning day. We want to clarify that we introduces this charge so that we would get more parents/older gymnasts involved. Our hope is NOT make money on this, because of people who will pay to avoid cleaning. If we are many who help each other it will go quickly and easily. Schedule for spring cleaning Autumn semester 2018: Spring cleaning 1 of Gymnastikens hus Sunday 19/9 The group to be clean is: Trupp 3 Spring cleaning 2 of Gymnastikens hus in december The group to be clean is: Vuxentruppen Below this attachment you will also find the weekly cleaning schedule for the Gymnastics Hall. Security rules in Gymnastikens hus For us to be able to work out safe and secure, we have the following rules: All gymnasts are leaving their shoes at shoe shelves at the entrance. Clothing is left in the changing rooms. No clothes in the gym. SGA is not responsible for personal accessories. All gymnasts will have to wait in the locker room before it's time for training (so that we do not interfere with groups training). Fruit & water should be in the locker room, NOT in the gym.
3 Children & youth in other gyms: (Smassen, Årsunda, Murgårdsskolan) Help develop/remove equipment at each training (to help leaders and save time for more exercise. Please ask the leader if she or he wants help) If necessary, help with easier cleaning Assist the leaders if they need any help during your workout Help if there are camps or other activity of the gymnasts. SGA will also help in different arrangements, for example. Julgalan and this will require that you parents volunteer to help. Help is always welcome, don t be afraid to ask the coaches if they need any help during the semester. If you want to get more involved in the Association we are of course very happy for all the help we can get! Parking, drop-off & pick-up There is parking prohibition at Sätralinjen outside of Gymnastikens hus. Please park in the parking lot outside the pizzeria at Björksätraskolan instead when you pick up or leave your children. This is also for your child's safety. We also wish for you parents to accompany the children to the door, and also meet them inside when the workout is over. That way you know your children comes in as they should and we leaders know they re safe going home. This is regardless of which gym the child is practicing in. Training fee The cost for a gymnast who train in SGA depends on how many hours a week the gymnast is training. An invoice will be sent out in connection with the start of the semester. Training fee helps the Association to continue to develop activities (purchase of new equipment, education for leaders, office staff, pay the rental fees, etc.). Fee at the camp/competition When a group is participating in a competition or camp the Association will demand a fee that will cover part of the cost incurred in connection with the activity. You have to approve the participant of your child to the coaches, and then an invoice will be sent by mail and shall be paid for before the activity takes place. If you signed up for the competition you have to pay the fee, even if your child doesn t participate. At camp activities, the gymnasts themselves pay the full cost (ev., Association contribute economic at certain times)
4 Parkour Parkour is about to move from point A to point B in the fastest way, which means that it is not always the most natural way. Looking at movies in which practicing parkour, you can see people who jump between rooftops and doing flips from high hights. We understand that you might think it looks cool and awesome BUT that s not how we train in the SGA. Inside the gym, we practice on safe landings and preparation for flips, we do not support or encourage children to do dangerous things outside of the gym. If your child is out with friends, practicing parkour outside of training time we take no responsibility for that, that is all on you as a parent. Clothing, jewelry, water bottle, etc. Try not to have too loose workout clothes (to reduce the risk of damage if you get stuck in something). Gymnasts who have long hair has to have their hair up during pratice. Jewelry should not be worn (rings, necklaces, earrings, etc) because this causes an increased risk of injury. Please bring a water bottle to training, water is important when you work out! Photography We live in a time where many daily shares much of what we are doing on social media. Do not post pictures of other people's children without permission from parents, since that s now also illegal. Follow SGA on social media Website: Facebook: Sandvikens Gymnastikavdelningar Instagram: SandvikensGA Each week you can follow any group in the SGA. Feel free to use Sponsor House ( when purchasing online, it serves both you and the Association money. Clothing The Association's competing leotard and dungarees should be used at competitions. Dungarees, caps, bags, etc. can be ordered via the SGA's registry. Do you have questions about our activity, contact the leader in your group or SGA's registry at Tel or by gymnastik@sgakansliet.se. We hope you all have a nice stay at SGA! Kind regards The Board of Directors of Sandvikens Gymnastikavdelningar
