2 AUGUST CARMEL VALLEY TENNIS USTA SECTIONALS August 25-27, 2017 CVAC is excited to once again host the USTA 18 and over Sectional Playoffs. This is a great event to come and watch some exciting tennis as teams from around Northern California play for a chance at the National Playoffs. Please note that all courts will be occupied with sectional play during these days and will not be open for member play until after 5:00 pm. FITNESS NEW GROUPX INSTRUCTORS Sophia Longas Sophia has a background in movement culture. She was a gymnastics coach and trained, taught and performed aerial arts (trapeze, silks, aerial ladder and lyra).she makes sure to keep the creative juices flowing to create a playful and spiritual experience. Join her in Yoga for Athletes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 pm ATHLETIC CLUB Jennifer Zeigler Jennifer started teaching Cycle and Yoga back in Her ultimate goal is to help everyone feel welcome in joining a group fitness class feel excited during and after class, and to meet new fitness benchmarks. Currently, she teaches Preschool at Cachagua Children s Center. Join her in Power Spin on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 am. Sabrina Aliotti Sabrina was born and raised on the Monterey Peninsula. Her and her husband, Frank, have two school aged children. She enjoys her career as a part time elementary school teacher. A few years ago, she fell in love with Zumba and decided to teach it to others. Join her in Zumba on Mondays at 12:00 pm and Aqua on Tuesdays at 10:00 am. Similar to Reformer classes. JUMPBOARD: This class takes place on the Reformer, with a platform attached to the end to enable clients to jump with varying levels of resistance. This class will work the abdominals, increase the heart rate and improve coordination and articulation through the feet. : An hour long class on The Universal Reformer. The design of this equipment will aid in aligning your body for optimal results. Exercises are performed on a moving platform with resistive springs and straps. Enhance your workout and build longer, stronger muscles with this class. RESTORATIVE : Stretch and strengthen through gentle, healing exercises on the Reformer. Restore strength, well-being, and balance through slow, guided movements. TENNIS CLINIC DESCRIPTIONS BEGINNER ADULT CLINIC: Players in this group learn proper stroke production and footwork with the goal of achieving consistency and placement of shots. They will also learn fundamental tactics and strategies. A fun way to learn tennis and get a good cardio workout. ADVANCED ADULT CLINIC: The focus will be on targeting and improving specific areas of players singles and doubles skills, tactics, and cardio using game situation play, live ball drills, and cooperative & competitive drills. A fun, active and fast paced clinic for more advanced players at the 3.5+ level. CO-ED CLINIC: Designed for 3.0/3.5/4.0 rated players that want to work on stroke production, footwork, strategy, meet other players and have FUN! LIVE BALL CLINIC: This action packed clinic will maximize your exercise experience while working on doubles formations whether on the baseline or at the net. All levels are welcome. KIDS CLINIC DESCRIPTIONS SPLASH: Kids will build confidence and endurance in the water with this fun after-school program. Dry land Training (45 minutes) consists of exercises that develop coordination, improve posture, and strengthen stamina. Splashers will then enjoy personalized swim instruction with our certified swim coaches. (60 minutes). PARENT & TOT: Introduce your child to the water in this fun and educational summer class. Ages: 6 month 2 years. A 10-day pass can be purchased for $120. KIDS DANCE: Children will learn the discipline and art of dance in a safe and fun environment. Classes will incorporate many different styles with an emphasis on ballet. KIDS CARDIO: Class time will be split between games, exercises, and obstacle courses that improve hand-eye coordination, balance, and motor skills. JUDO: Instructs students in the martial art and Olympic sport of Judo. Students will learn to fall safely, perform various throws, hold downs, & submission techniques.
