2 WELCOME NOTE Dear Colleagues, We cordially invite you to attend at the First Symposium of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Bosnia and Herzegovina with international participation which will take place in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 6 th -7 th, This event will be good opportunity for child and adolescent as well as other psychiatrists and other professionals involved in the field of mental health care of children and adolescents from Bosnia and Herzegovina, region, Europe and wider, with main aim of exchanging current trends and experiences in this field of medicine that is in practice insufficiently affirmed. We hope that the Symposium topic Neglecting and Other Problems of Children and Adolescents in Modern Society: Psychical Consequences will provide excellent opportunity to discuss various topics related to professional and scientific dilemmas, the position and role of child and adolescent psychiatry within medicine and society in general as well as humanistic and personalized approach to children and adolescents with various mental health problems in the light of current knowledge on psychical and behavioural disorders. The Symposium also intends to provide an overview of the latest knowledge in area of risks of modern living that often neglects children and young people alongside other problems in modern society and can create numerous psychological consequences to this vulnerable population. As well it opens new pats of integrating different approaches and therapeutic procedures. We do hope that Symposium can be a stimulus for new efforts and achievement in our daily practices to achieve benefits for children, youth and the community in general. City of Tuzla is the Centre of the Tuzla Canton. It is often called as City of Salt and is a cultural, university and economic centre, well known for its multinational and multicultural tolerance as well as warm hospitality. Those lectures will be presented by leading child and adolescent psychiatrists invited by the Scientific Committee. The lectures will cover important topics of the Symposium. WORKSHOP FOR SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS, SCHOOL PEDAGOGUES, EDUCATORS OF PRE-SCHOOL AND SCHOOL INSTITUTIONS During the Symposium on Friday, July 06, 2018, a Workshop will be held for school psychologists, school pedagogues, educators in pre-school and school institutions: Early Recognizing of Psychical Problems in Children and Adolescents (Klaus Schmeck Switzerland, Sussanne Schlüter Müller, Switzerland). The number of participants is limited. The ones who previously applied will benefit. Participants will receive Certificate of Active Participation at the Workshop. The workshop costs are covered by the Organizers and the Behram Bey s Madrasah, so the participants are exempted from paying the fees and other charges. Lunch and refreshments during the breaks for all registered participants are provided. All registered participants are required to confirm their attendance at least seven days prior the Workshop. If this is not done, we will consider it as not attending the Workshop.
