1 Community Engagement Projects As of Welcome to our Community Engagement page! This is where you will find opportunities for serving your local community as individuals or groups. We believe we are never closer to being like Jesus than when we are serving others. Our desire here is to provide you with a few service opportunities, in hopes that after you get a taste of service, it will become a part of who you are. Feel free to contact any of those listed below for information about projects. If you do not see what you are looking for, send questions to communityengagement@heritagechristian.org. If you have ideas for projects or you are a local organization looking for volunteers and you would like to partner with us, please projects@heritagechristian.org 1. Vertical Church C We are excited to partner with Vertical Church on the 2nd Sunday each month for their worship gatherings. Located on the campus of Clark Atlanta University, Vertical Church has a strategic placement to impact both the collegiate and surrounding community volunteers are needed each month to serve food and engage the collegiate, and homeless of the West End/Vine City area. Real Life Store Fayetteville Store 400 North Glynn Street, Fayetteville, GA Kem Williams kem- Needs: Volunteers (min. age 14 yrs.) Help sorting clothes and incoming donations on Monday, Wednesday & Friday Warehouse Supervisor & organization - Monday & Thursday Decorating & display of incoming donations - Monday & Friday
4 Community Engagement Projects As of Harvest for Real Life.14 Jeff Meyers Needs: Starting in late June the orchard will be open Mon., Wed., and Sat. from 9am 11am. Families, Individuals and small groups are welcome to come help pick blackberries and blueberries for the Real Life Center. The harvest season continues through the fall with a variety of fruit. 8. Real Life Center 220 Parkade Court, Peachtree City, GA Vicki Troyer vtroyer@reallifecenter.org Needs: Volunteers (min. age 14 yrs.) Mondays and Tuesdays to help sort donations from 9am Noon One time database project in April. There will be flexible hours, but volunteers must have experience with Excel.
5 Community Engagement Projects As of Bloom Our Youth- The Bloom Closet (formally Gracie s Closet) Fayetteville Becky Davenport (770) ext.305 b.davenport@bloomouryouth.org Needs: foster parents, donations of gently used teens, toddlers, & baby clothing and items & volunteers 10. Fayette Special Olympics Debbie Parrish dparrish@fayettecountyga.gov Upcoming: TBA 11. Southwest Christian Care Shelley Mann Ministry Volunteer Coordinator SMann@SWChristianCare.org Needs: 1. Meal for DayBreak, a Senior care/alzheimer program once a month (soup, sandwich, and desert) 2. Adopting a hospice room or two by giving it a fresh coat of paint and a good cleaning 3. Laying pine straw throughout the garden, planting new flowers in all of our outdoor pots, cleaning out our shed, sprucing up the Hope House playground 4. Volunteer for Wednesday evenings 5-8. A Hospice volunteer greets our visitors, answers the phone, cleans the kitchen, washes the laundry, and stocks our dressers. Basically, anything that you would do at your own home.

They could bring food enough for 50, or could come to prepare food and then serve. Any groups interested in serving, please call Angie by Tuesday night to confirm you are volunteering.
