IS TO PUBLICIZE THE POW- MIA ISSUE. TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC OF THE FACT THAT MANY AMERICAN PRISONERS OF WAR WERE LEFT BEHIND AFTER ALL PAST WARS. TO HELP CORRECT THE PAST AND TO PROVENT THE FUTURE VETERANS FROM BEING LEFT BEHIND SHOULD THEY BECOME PRISONERS OF WAR /MISSING IN ACTION. WE ARE COMMITTED TO HELPING AMERICAN VETERANS FROM ALL WARS. He is 92 years young, WWII veteran and Fire Chief for 30 years in Nokesville, VA. He was hospitalized the w/o September 3 rd, returned home the w/o September 10 th with hospice, due to health complications and Alzheimer s. Please keep Janet Conger s nephew in your prayers, Captain Milles Dunning heads to Afghanistan on September 25 th. Updates from September 2017 Elections: Elections were completed at September 1 st meeting. Chapter NC6 Secretary Our current Chapter Secretary, Jim Bachand, is stepping down. Please considering volunteering to fulfill this position and support our chapter. If you have an interest please speak with Jim Bachand, Perry Kesler or Ronnie Tuttle. Other Matters - Henry Arms rifle tickets rifle tickets sales have been very good. Anyone still interested in selling rifle raffle tickets, please contact Eugene Swaim. Operation Uniform - If anyone who has old fatigues/new fatigue you would like to donate to macares, they handcraft them into items to raise money and awareness to support service dogs of faith Cares veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or Traumatic Brain Injury. These sales help to financial support service dogs, so veterans are relieved of the financial burden associated with owning a service dog. Janet Conger would be happy to collect your donation at any meeting. POW MIA NC License Plates: There is an effort to initiate POW-MIA license plates in NC. Brochures were handed out at the Chapter NC6 meeting on September 10 th. We need 100 cars/motorcycles license plate to be purchase before January 2018 for this initiative to be voted on by the NC legislation. As noted in Perry s June 2017 Page 3 of 7

4 Ensure all forms are fully completed, No personalized plates in the initial effort, Personal information is required, but will be managed with the utmost care (forms will be destroyed once initial form is processed) This is to facilitate refunds if the initiative fails If form is for a motorcycle, write M in lower right corner outside border Checks must be made out to Rolling Thunder NC1, cash/credit card payments must be deposited into local Chapters and a check made out to NC1 Forms (White/Light Yellow) and checks will be collected Monthly and mailed to NC1 Form copies: o White: State o Light Yellow: RTNC1 o Pink: Customer o Dark Yellow: Local Chapter Chicken Stew Door Prizes: We are asking all members to collect door prizes for the upcoming Chicken Stew Fund Raiser (October 21 st ). Door prizes can be from any local merchant. Any merchant needing/requesting non-profit information please contact Perry Kesler or Ronnie Tuttle. Table Ceremony: Any member who would like to participate please speak with Ronnie Tuttle. The following attire is required black jeans and a white dress shirt adorned as shown below, Chapter NC6 logo on right & left shoulders, POW-MIA on each cuff, and White buttons replaced with black buttons. The event schedule could include activities, such as, Rolling Thunder Chapter events (ours and other chapters), local veteran events, local community events, public opportunities to explain Rolling Thunder mission, any events NC6 could sponsor or be part of. All members are encouraged to recommend local events and activities. Please make your suggestions/recommendations known to any Chapter Officer. Rolling Thunder North Carolina State Picnic members, we need volunteers to organize a committee. We are responsible for hosting the 2018 State Picnic. We need to plan the activities, identify the location, decide on the menu, and get the communication out to local radio/tv/newspapers/etc. Anyone interested in participating please speak with any Chapter Officer.
