1 Thank you Cabinet and Lions of District A-15 for the privilege of serving and promoting this excellent Opportunities for Youth program which develops individual student growth of character and promotes the civic potential in our community. I have had the opportunity to attend a number of Zone meetings(3) and Club meetings to share information and promote enthusiasm for this program. A BIG thank-you to the 14 Clubs who have made a generous donation to this worthwhile project. We have reached about 48 % of our annual budgeted needs. Therefore, the financial appeal, for Clubs with some available 'Spare Cash' is still 'on-the-table'. Fund$ may be sent to District A-15 Treasurer: Peter Oswald, 4 Tristan Ct, Dundas, ON L9H 7G7. District Clubs holding Effective Speaking contests include: Fergus LC, Feb 27th; Guelph LC, March 18th; Lions Clubs International District A-15 News Bulletin February 2014 Effective Speaking seeks support to ensure this year is a success Lion Denis Vinette District Governor dg@a15lions.org Follow Your Dream Lion Bob Rutter News Bulletin Editor bulletin@a15lions.org Belwood & District LC, Feb 25th; Breslau LC, Feb 10th. Previous years Paris LC, Sheffield LC, St George LC, Hickson & District LC, K-W Community Spirit LC and others have also sent student contestants to our A-15 District Finals. Thirtyfive(35) to forty(40) speech contestants are expected at our finals this March. Volunteers are needed and welcomed for focused and fun event. Please note the following confirmed dates & locations: A-15 District finals will be held on Sat March 29, 2014, (8:30 for) 9:00 am start at, St George German Public School, in St George. hosted by St George LC. The MDA finals will be held in London, Ontario and hosted by the St Thomas LC on Fri / Sat May 30 & 31, Let's all spread the message and passion about this program. Some Clubs are really 'on board' by holding local contests AND contributing generously to this Opp/Youth program. Others do their part by sending a budgeted contribution cheque to A-15 Treasurer, Peter Oswald. Every District A-15 Lion, not only those on Cabinet must 'lead the way' and show their club's commitment to this 'Opportunities for Youth' project. Don't let our youth down. Dedication & Teamwork in a Spirit of Service has always been District A-15's distinction. Let's keep it up. Its great to be a part of A-15 Lions who serve our communities, our youth, & our future, in a spirit of willingness, excellence and fun.
