2 Greetings from the Governor Greetings Moose members! Having just returned from the Ohio State Moose Conference, there are many things to bring to your attention. We really need to get to work on signing new members. With only two months left in the Moose Year, we need over 20 new members to meet our Moose membership quota. However, there are several new members in process. This is very important because it affects many things. We need to scout for new members! Administrator highlights We are a strong growing lodge with lots of good people and we want to keep being strong. We have members in nine states other than Ohio. Men and women keep their membership here because we are The Friendliest Place in Town. There is also much pride in what we do for our community and for the Moose Organization. Also keep in mind, there are 43 of 97 lodges in Ohio smaller than us. Be positive! Ty Rowe, Lodge Governor Other Men Officers: Administrator: Richard Sharon Jr. Governor: Tim Moore Prelate: Mike Arledge Treasurer: Chris Suman Trustee (1yr.): Cam Dyer Trustee (2 yr.): Geoff Wisse Trustee (3 yr.): Frank Stewart Jr. Past Governor: Chris Walker Sergeant at Arms: Wayne Prater Inner Guard: Bryan Wilson Outer Guard: Jon Kunze The Bellefontaine Moose Lodge continues to get stronger and create more pride in the Moose. Also, we gave one of the larger donation amounts to the Special Our lodge was rated Superior the last two quarters in Community Service and also received the Bronze Award in the nation last year. 3 Women of the Moose spotlight Big Congratulations to Lori Wisse and to Jeanna Sprizzo on their receiving for a great big Academy of Friendship Degree. We are so very proud of you! Thank you very much for your hard work. Our Chapter is Women of the moose glass decal can be ordered from Moose Intl. This is a youth organization giving spiritual and social guidance plus a place to go to for fun for our local youth. More details on this very worthwhile community project will be made available in coming weeks. Anyone willing to chair a committee or help the Women of the Moose and our Chapter in any way, please let an Officer know. Help and ideas are always very much appreciated! Sandy Peyton, Sr. Regent Other Women of the Moose Officers: Jr. Grad Regent: Christina Pearson Jr. Regent: Secretary: Recorder: Guide: Asst. Guide: Jeanna Sprizzo Jennifer Hammond Kim LeVan Lori Arledge Brenda Hall Honor our community heroes with Moose membership From January 1 st through April 30 th, 2017 Moose International will waive first year fees and dues for active military personnel and first responders. If you know someone who is serving our country or provides first responder services for your community, now is a great time to reach out and offer them a membership in the Moose. The gift of membership is a natural fit for those who look to make the best of difficult situations, just as Moose members try to improve the lives of those they touch as well. We hope these individuals will learn about the great things we do for children, seniors, and our communities, and will want to stay involved. Erin Go Bragh! Big St Patrick s Day Party March 17 May the road rise up to meet you at our super fun, dance celebration for St. Patrick's Day on March 17. There will be costumes, hats, and decorations galore and even a little jigging from our band. You may say Kiss me I m Irish or I m not Irish but kiss me anyway. With a little luck of the Irish, you might even be elected as Best Kisser or you could be the Blarney Stone. So, come on down and lets all get sham-rocked with a lot of blarney. You can dance with your favorite Leprechaun or Lassie. Good golly, Miss Molly, don t miss out on one of the most fun parties of the year! The band is Pegasus. Here, hold my pot of gold! 5 Parade of Checks at the Ohio State Moose Conference Bellefontaine Moose: Parade of checks $1400 Ohio Special Project (see page 1). $100 Endowment fund $100 Safe Surfing for Moose International $100 to Safe Web Surfing Foundation $400 to Special Olympics of Ohio $100 to Tent Town for Special Olympics of Ohio $100 to Tommy Moose Project $100 to Ohio State Moose V.A.V.S. (for veterans). $100 to OSMA Museum This Parade of checks is for projects supported by the Ohio State Moose Association and by Moose International. Our Lodge continues to support local community service projects which will be listed from time to time in our newsletter (see example front page). roll call. This was one of the largest representations from a lodge in Ohio. Many people wondered how we had so many. The answer: because we believe in the Moose directives for communities and elsewhere. In addition, many of our members help put on non moose community projects such as school projects, church projects, projects as members of other organizations, and fund raising. These will be headlined as they are completed. Why? Because our members are involved. Bellefontaine Moose members, you should be very proud of how you have made our Lodge great. Ohio State Moose Association Conference Hospitality! Did you know the Bellefontaine Moose lodge was well represented by both the men and the women at the recent Ohio State Moose Association Midyear Conference in Independence, Ohio. We had 15 members stand up for On of the many Parade of Checks being presented at the O.S.M.A. Mid Year Conference. This one document will help do so much for so many people! The State Hospitality rooms had a contest for best hospitality. Our District, the State District 3, did not win, but we had the most fun thanks to Bellefontaine Moose in charge of the Moose races. A big thanks to all who helped out. Do you hear Bellefontaine bells ringing in your ears? We mailed newsletters to members in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Florida, Tennessee, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, South Carolina, Washington, California and to Moose International. We had some startup problems, but most people were glad to hear our lodge does so much. People must think positive to keep a lodge healthy and growing; this is just another positive way to be informed. The Moose Bell wishes to say thanks to all the members who Page 5 helped put the Newsletter together. We especially want to thank all our special contributors including: Chris Suman, pictures; Jon Kunze, printing; Co-Editor Chris Tillman, final proofreading and grammar; Chris Walker, band schedule; Ty Rowe for community and overall approval. Also, to Chuck and Sandy Peyton for Moose Legion, and WOTM articles. Finally, to Dick Sharon for addresses and The Heart of Community giving. The Moose Bell is always looking for good news in the lodge, the community and Moose International. Phil Dick, Co-Editor The Moose Bell Page 5 of 6 Downloaded from Posted: 2/27/2017
