3 3 LAST WEEK APPRECIATION AND INSPRIRATION We were in for a treat as we were both inspired and appreciated very much Peter Silverforce s talent to be able to sing to us with a resounding applause from all present. Full of surprises was Peter with a tin of very special biscut s for after dinner. Thank you, Peter! OPEN FORUM A great chance for all to up on upcoming events and programs and to hear form our two visitors on what is happening in their clubs in KeriKeri By Dale Simpkin past Napier Rotarian and John Locke Rotarian from Kirkcudbright Scotland. SERGEANTS SESSION All those not at thirsty Thursday were fined. There was a high class select group at Churchill s Champagne & Snug bar. Then the session moved on to a Round of Dumb Ass, played by each table with a soft foam ball flying and Who Am I quizzes. Don t ask you needed to be there? THREE SPEAKER MINUTE Brad McDonald gave us good speech on his background, being new to the club. A local lad Brad grew up in Flaxmere in Hastings. His Mum brought him and his siblings up and it is clear there are very strong supportive family ties. Brad has been very successful in his career and is enjoying the change of working for himself with Gary. Brad is a Registered and Authorised Financial Advisor and views himself as bit of a google map helping people set their destination and guiding them on the best route and adjusting routes as they head to their goals which some need reminding of every now and again (Ed. That s me.) Whit a wife Yvette and now not so

4 4 young two girls Brad really enjoys his family and sporting life. Football, Cricket and a bit of golf. Welcome Brad and thank you for sharing with us. NEED TO KNOW CHRISTMAS 2018 Monday 17th December Christmas Party at Ormlie Lodge Ball Room. The theme is Christmas be it as formal or semi casual as you like; we re all amongst friends so have some fun and dress it up black and white or bold and bright! 5.30pm for a 6.30pm start. We can decorate the ball room up on Sunday prior so be prepared to come along with some decorations. Cost $30 for weekly payers and $50 for monthly payers and all partners and guests. Friday 15 Sunday 17 March 2019 For more information visit PROJECTS NAPIER FAMILY CENTRE GIFTS: Following on from last year, our Club is helping to collect presents to be distributed to families received support through the Napier Family Centre ( Around 80 families benefited from the gifts collected last year from Rotary and Napier churches. How this works is by taking gift tags from Tony Franklin-Ross that have a gender and age, for which you buy a present for the value of $5-10. You do not have to wrap the present, as this gives the parent/caregiver the opportunity to wrap presents themselves for their children. ROTARY DISTRICT CONFERENCE
