SOLDIER FIELD 1410 Museum Campus Drive Chicago, IL AIDS Run & Walk Chicago is AFC s grassroots fundraising event, where people from all walks of life change the story of HIV by raising awareness and funds to support those living with HIV. As beneficiaries of the event, AFC and our CommunityDirect partners are greatly impacted beyond just the obvious ways. Over 250 volunteers, 30 Community Partners, 50 corporate teams and 2,500 activists, friends, family members and allies of the HIV Community. 3 EVENT DETAILS 2 REGISTRATION PREREGISTRATION FEES through Sept. 25: $30 Walker online registration $35 Walker offline registration $40 5K or 10K Runner online registration $45 5K or 10K Runner offline registration EVENT DAY REGISTRATIONS Oct. 1: $50 Walkers, 5K and 10K Runners (runners will not be chip-timed) *Children of all ages must register to receive a participant shirt and participant fundraising page* TRANSPORTATION & PARKING Parking will be available in the Waldron Garage for $20 per car, accessible via Museum Campus Drive and 18th Drive. Note: Waldron Drive will be closed to traffic for the event. PUBLIC TRANSPORATION CTA--accessible via the 146 bus and Roosevelt Station (Red, Orange and Green lines). Check Bus Tracker and Train Tracker. The RTA Travel Information Center provides scheduling information for all CTA, Metra and PACE services. BICYCLE Participants are highly encouraged to ride their bicycles to this event. Bicycle parking is available on the southwest lawn of the Museum Campus. COURSE INFORMATION All three courses (5K/10K/Walker) will feature breathtaking views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan. You will find water stations placed along all courses with additional refreshments available at the finish line. Click for the appropriate course route: Walk, 5K Run, 10K Run Dogs are welcome on the race routes, but please bring supplies to clean up after your furry friend! The walker course is ADA accessible and strollers are permitted on all three courses. We respectfully request that dogs and strollers begin at the back of the corrals for safety reasons. RACE RESULTS Will be available on event day at the runner registration booth and posted online at AIDSRUNWALK.ORG.

During step 1 of the registration process, select if you would like to have your race packet mailed to your prior to the race. The mailing fee is $7 (shirts and bibs will be mailed 4 days before the event). a. 10 FUNDRAISING FUN WAYS TO FUNDRAISE: Dining Out for a Cause: Ask a local restaurant to donate a portion of one evening s proceeds to your AIDS Run & Walk Chicago fund. Make invitations or fliers to get the word out to your friends and co-workers you ll bring business to the restaurant and make strides toward your fundraising goal. Chili-off!: Host a party where your team prepares chili dishes (or other main course that can be made in a variety of ways). Invite other friends to be taste-testers have everyone donate $5 or $10 to sample the chili. And the winner is : Use your charm and social skills to acquire raffle prizes from businesses that you frequent or brands with which you have a relationship. Sell raffle tickets for $2 each or 10 tickets for $15. That s a bargain! Benefit Show: If you know a band, dj or comedian, ask if he/she would be interested in doing a benefit for your AIDS Run & Walk Chicago fund at a local bar or coffeehouse. Bake Sale: Hold a bake sale in your neighborhood or the office to raise money for the walk. Everyone will enjoy an after work treat! Host a Sports Tournament: 3v3 basketball, badminton or dodgeball charge $5 for individual participation or $25 to form a team. Sell donated goods at your concession stand. Charge $1 for spectators. Corporate Matching Gifts: Ask your HR department if your company has a matching gift program. Encourage your donors to ask their employers as well. Other Matching Gifts: If your employer does not have a matching gift program already established, ask your boss to match the proceeds from your next fundraiser. This may seem bold, but you cannot receive what you do not ask for. You never know who may become your biggest advocate and supporter. Dress-down Days: Charge your co-workers $5 per day to wear jeans to the office they get to be comfortable and support your cause! Lunch Fundraiser: Find a local restaurant to donate a catered lunch to your office to raise money for AIDS Run & Walk Chicago. Anyone who pays the suggested donation of $5 or $10 is welcome to the feast! Penny Wars: Create a competition between departments, the goal being to collect the most pennies. Pennies give positive points, silver coins or dollars give negative points. In the end, the team with the highest dollar amount wins! Solicit the donation of a winning prize that will motivate the teams. Pie Smash: Ask a supervisor to agree to be smashed in the face with a pie to raise money for AIDS Run & Walk Chicago. Staff can either pay $1 per pie smash or attempt to out-bid each other to throw a pie. Lunch with the Boss: Employees who donate to the walk are entered into a raffle to have lunch with a top level executive. Dress up your signature: Add a link to your fundraising page in the signature of your . Make it as easy as possible to become a donor. Branded signatures coming soon! Guest Bartending: Many pubs and taverns around town will be more than happy to let you get behind the bar for a night. All of your tips go toward your fundraising goal. Sport the Red Ribbon: Wear an AIDS awareness ribbon or pin a couple of days a week let it start the conversation for you. Each conversation is a valuable opportunity to ask for a donation. Complete the Donor Checklist: People cannot donate to you if they don t know you re walking/running. Talk to everyone you meet throughout the day. See if you can get everyone on the Donor Checklist checked off!

Show it off: Check in with your team captain to get some SWAG to decorate your school, office, or store! Find a Helping Hand: Recruit a co-leader to help you motivate and build your team. Throw it Back: If you had a team last year, aidsrunwalk@aidschicago.org for your 2016 Team Roster to re-recruit! Build it Up: Sign up friends, family, and coworkers to your team. Ask them to sign up at least one other person! FUNDRAISNG CHECKLIST Set a Date: Organize a fundraiser, happy hour, party, or raffle with your team! Show Some Love: Thank all of your donors and Team Members for their hard work and dedication! PARTICIPANT EVENT DAY CHECKLIST Set your alarm: Don t miss AIDS Run & Walk Chicago! Plan Ahead: Organize a meeting place with your team, family and friends Get charged: Make a playlist and charge your phone to jam out on the run Stay hydrated: Bring a water bottle Get dressed: Put on your AIDS Run & Walk shirt, bib and safety pins (if you received them in the mail) Strap in: Wear a good running/walking shoes POST EVENT CHECKLIST Ask: Update your donors with photos from the event, and ASK them again to help us reach our $500,000 goal! Say Thanks: Send thank yous to donors through your participant fundraising center BBHMM: Submit all donations by November 15 (CommunityDirect teams) Check your lists: Team Captains Pay registration invoices 60 days after received Talk to your boss: Submit matching gift forms to your employer
