2 April & May 2015 NEWSLETTER -From the Commander- Hello Everyone, Like most of you, I am so happy to feel warmer weather and hear the bird s songs once again. With the changing of the season come with it a lot of changes at the 202. We have elections coming up on April 18th from noon to 6pm and your vote is much appreciated. With that we also need a few more volunteers for our executive board. You do not need super powers, only a willingness to help our Post and our veterans. On April 4th we are going to both celebrate our 50th Anniversary and rededicate the 202 to a Topsham veteran named Corey Edwin Garver who bravely made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We are honored to have our very first Commander Mr. Charles Payne as guest speaker as well as others for this event. Our membership has reached the 90% mark and we are only in need a few more people to reach last year s numbers. We only have until June 1st to complete this however I know that with your help we can do this. Yours in Service SAL Commander Mike Owen -Thank you from Troop The American Legion Post 202 is the Sponsors for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 202 in the Abenaki district of the Pine Tree Council. The men and women of The Legion have given us so much more than a space to have meetings or a shed to store our equipment. Currently with 17 Boys and 7 Adult leaders we continue to hike the path of the Eagle. You have supported us with more than money over the years, you have set the example we strive to achieve. You give us guidance, along with sharing your wisdom. They say you get out of Scouts, is what you put into it. Well it s because of you we can say we are proud to be in the Boy Scouts of America- Thank you for your support and Thank you for your service. Respectfully from our Troop 202 Dear Legionnaires, -From Election Committee - It s that time of the year where we have the opportunity to elect new officers for our post. We are grateful for our Commander, 1st & 2nd Vice, Adjutant, Finance Officer, and Chaplain for volunteering their time and effort. Please consider running for an office in our Post. The more people we have working together, the less work we as individuals have to do. Elections will be held on April 18th from 12 noon until 6pm.
