It is important that we have young members learn positions and take over this Post. June 9 th is the Post s 70 th Anniversary. We will be celebrating on Saturday, June 11 th. This year s MISS BUDDY POPPY is Mialynn Rose Brown, she is the daughter of Regina Graichen, a Navy veteran and member of our Post. Walk in the parade with the Post, meet at the Post at 9am or at Harrison Elementary at 9:30am, Parade starts at 10am The Event Center improvements are being done, looking so much better. 2 CLUB MANAGER MESSAGE CANTEEN Open Mon. - Fri. at 3pm / Sat. & Sun. 8am CABANA: OPENING THUR, 5/26 FOR CRUISE IN every Wednesday in the Canteen (no cover) every Monday, beginners at 6pm; regulars at 7pm $5. (Except Monday 5/30) LOV-S Monthly Breakfast on Sat, May 14: 8am-11:30am $7.00 & FLEA MARKET 8am- 1pm. Shish Kabob Dinner: Friday, 5/27: Choice of chicken or beef, baked potato, salad and roll. $8.00, served from 4:30-7pm. Canteen Entertainment: Friday, 5/6: Juke Box; Friday, 5/13: DJ John Summers, 5/20: Ashby Fork Band, 5/27: To be announced. Live Band: 2 Second Warning: Saturday, 8pm $5.00 Admission. Open to Public Weekly CRUISE IN. May 26 th CABANA OPENS every Thursday, 5-9pm. DJ John Summers, food, drinks and prizes. MEMORIAL DAY PARADE: Monday, 5/30: Meet at Post at 9a or at Harrison Elementary at 9:30am; Parade starts at 10am. Come walk with our Post. 70 TH BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR OUR POST: Will be on Sat, June 11 th. Planning is in progress, volunteers with great ideas needed. I will still volunteer a few hours a week and I will help train anyone that wants to learn how to help take this Post over. We need new young blood to keep moving forward for the next 70 years. If not, the Post will not be here in two years. We need 4 or 5 members to do different jobs. If everyone helps it s not too much for anyone to do! God Bless America and Protect Our Troops, Paul F. Birthday Party is Sat, May 21, starting at 6pm with happy hour prices for Birthday Person til 9pm, birthday cake, juke box. Bring snack to share and invite some of your friends. CHAPLAIN S CORNER Sympathy to Barb Bowling and Shannon Laug in the passing of their Moms. We have a long list of friends that are ill they are: Walt Miller, Joe Ecklar, Darlene Johnson, Tilly, Mary Reed, Judy Brown, Barb Bowling, Donna Smith, Benny Grant, Duffy Vines & Sandy White. Havlin, President Men s Auxiliary LOVE OUR VETERANS SOCIETY LOV-S will be holding our election in June for officers. Any member interested in running for a position, please contact Nancy Betz, Sue Sonderman or Phyllis Wolf. Nominations will be accepted at our May 26 th meeting. Don t forget our All You Can Eat Breakfast $7.00 on May 14 th 8am-11:30am. We will be hosting a Shish Kabob dinner on May 27 th, 4:30-7p or until gone $8.00, your choice of steak or chicken, baked potato, salad and roll. The Ham Shoots are over, this was a great fund raiser. I would like to thank all the volunteers who worked the snack bar. LOV-S will be doing the food for Bike Runs scheduled at the VFW, please contact me so I can get a list of volunteers that I can notify when they are scheduled. Jeremy (ANDY) Anderson, Quartermaster POST HELPING VETERANS & AREA NEEDY The Post has helped in April: 41 Veterans and families with VA assistance, driving to Veterans facilities and assisting with paper work and finances. People helped thru Charitable Events using the Canteen, Event Center. Every Thursday at noon AA meets here. We have given out over $4, for our veteran members, local area needy, etc. This was a big month and that s what we are here for - to help! Post needs your help to step up and get active a few hrs. a month! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Many improvements and clean up, can use your help anytime.
