2 Our theme for this year s Annual Meeting and Report is Celebrating Our Past, Shaping Our Future. When we look back on Jewish Community Services past, we are proud of the rich history of service delivered by our founding agencies. We appreciate the vision of the leaders who showed the courage and foresight to embrace change to ensure that our human services are relevant and effective in responding to our community s shifting needs. As we conclude our 8th year as JCS, a consolidated, comprehensive human services agency, we can see how the agency is positioned to thrive well into the future. The highlights of this year s achievements have illustrated the saying, with change comes opportunity. We are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Jewish Big Brother Big Sister program. This remarkable accomplishment demonstrates the resiliency that comes from adapting and growing while staying focused on our core mission. Many things have changed over 100 years but the need that young people have for caring mentors remains relevant. Over a thousand young people have benefited from the time and attention of wonderful volunteers. This year JCS launched its first annual Strictly Business Event to bestow awards on three of our employer partners and to let the public know that the JCS Career Center has highly qualified candidates for their job openings. This event greatly exceeded our expectations in developing new employer partnerships. A relatively new program, Patient Care Connection, experienced significant growth due to the generosity of several funders. This service places JCS social workers in primary care physician practices to help elderly and disabled patients overcome obstacles that impede optimal health. And this year, we prepared for a change in Executive Leadership to ensure continuity in shaping our agency s future. We sincerely thank our board leadership, our staff, our partners, the Associated and our other funders, our volunteers and our community for your ongoing support of JCS. 3 JOB SEEKERS benefitted from career services. $5.1 million in annual salaries from job placements PEOPLE were able to to meet basic needs. $2,472,000 in assistance provided ADULTS, CHILDREN & FAMILIES enhanced their mental health and well-being. 1,700 adults children OLDER ADULTS aged-in-place. 321 Holocaust survivors

4 CONTINUED INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS maximized their independence. 27 Adults with disabilities call a JCS ALU their home VOLUNTEERS made a difference in the lives of community members. 8,000 hours of service donated TEENS & YOUNG ADULTS learned about healthy decision-making. 310 programs at local schools, colleges and organizations COMMUNITY MEMBERS were connected to information about local resources.
