1 941 ASNT AZ SECTION Issue 15 ASNT Arizona April 2016 March Recap: MEETING LOCATION Thanks to everyone who made it out to our March 17 th meeting. When your ASNT meeting lands on St. Patrick s Day, it s a good excuse to wear a kilt. We continue to have strong turn out s and new faces each month. Attendance was 31 people in total. Location: Rodehouse Restaurant, 2425 S 24th St, Phoenix, AZ Social Hour Starts at 5:00pm Vendor s Night was a huge success this year again with 12 vendors in attendance, and many guests walking though. The generosity of all the vendors was very apparent with fancy s wines, spiced whiskey, and cordless power tools as door prizes just to name a few. Thank you vendors! Make sure to give them a call and see if they might be able to meet your NDT needs. For the April 21 st 2016 meeting: It s time for Back to the Basics. Dale R. Lynn will be presenting on the main methods of NDT with a brief history of how the evolved. Great for those who d like to know a little bit about the core methods out there. The location will be the Rodehouse Restaurant again. Come on out to score some FREE FOOD. As dinner will once more be FREE. (Yes, the FIRST SATURDAY of MAY) The Arizona Golf Tourney is back and it s game on as AWS has put out the call to join us for this fun event! We have some bay s reserved for up to 30 people at Top Golf in Scottsdale. You will need to R.S.V.P. for this event and spots are limited. Click here to send an RSVP . With some fundraising, and help from our vendor s we will be able to make this event FREE OF CHARGE. So click and RSVP today! Not sure what Top Golf is? It s a driving range with GPS tracking your score automatically, and is fun for all skill level s. Good fun and food included. At least one scholarship of $ will be awarded to a student going to an Arizona college or university each school year to be awarded at the start of the fall term. Each month, the Phoenix chapter will publish selected papers received in its newsletter. Each student who has a paper chosen to appear in the newsletter will be considered for the scholarship and receive a one-year ASNT student membership sponsored by the Phoenix chapter awarded at the monthly chapter meeting. Up to two submissions per student will be allowed.
