1 SNAP Cymru National Executive Committee Members SNAP Cymru Trustees provide good governance, strategic direction, define organisational goals, and set our targets for evaluating performance. Our Trustees have a general duty to act in the best interest of SNAP Cymru as a whole. Our Trustees are accountable for their decisions and actions to the public and must submit themselves to whatever scrutiny is appropriate to their office. Pauline Lewis (Company Secretary) 13 years Pauline Lewis has a range of professional experience in the educational field. During her career she has been a teacher, head teacher, Local authority adviser, and senior manager. The various roles have meant that she has worked at both a strategic and operational level. Her specific responsibilities have included leading and evaluating teaching and learning on a regional, local, institutional and individual pupil basis; planning, developing and monitoring educational provision; leading and delivering professional development for a range of professionals; resource responsibility and accountability that has included personnel, finance and premises. Pauline has been a trustee of the charity for approximately 12 years and company secretary for 10 years. Pauline now supports the charity by working strategically including forward planning, risk management and professional development. Lindsay Brewis (Vice Chairperson) 18 years Lindsay is a retired Head of Early Years for the charity Scope. During her time with Scope she oversaw several large grants from the BIG Lottery and brought these large projects to successful conclusions and within budget. Lindsay has been a parent trustee of the charity for about 18 years and Vice Chair for about 17. Lindsay now supports the charity on a day to day basis working strategically and on income generation.

2 Huw Roberts 11 years Huw began his career as secondary special needs teacher. This was followed by a period of time as an LEA adviser for children with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and medical conditions. Huw became a Senior Lecturer at the School of Education University of Wales, Bangor with responsibility for Special Educational Needs within education courses including directorship of Masters modules on ADHD/Dyspraxia /Autism and Inclusion. For many years he had responsibility as a Course Director for the Primary ITT course, Partnership Schools Manager for school experience and Director of CPD. He is an Estyn trained team inspector for the primary sector, and for many years was a National Professional Qualification for Head Teachers assessor and tutor. For four years prior to early retirement he was on secondment to the Welsh Assembly Government as an Inclusion Development Officer. He has a special interest in ALN and the Welsh language and continues to have a role in commissioning Welsh medium materials. He is a Welsh Language Champion and trustee for SNAP Cymru, chair of governors in a comprehensive school and currently works as an educational consultant. Andy Lusk 2 years Andy Lusk is experienced and qualified childcare, social care and special educational needs professional with skills in people management. Capital revenue budget design and management, organisational development and service design. These skills have been developed over 36 years up to Executive level. Andy worked with Scope UK as Director of Children and Young People s services and as Director of Services with 2,500 staff and 61m p.a. expenditure.

3 Denise Inger (Chief Executive Director) 23 years Denise Inger is an avid volunteer, supporting national and local disability groups and individuals. Denise first supported SNAP Cymru as a volunteer and became an employee of SNAP Cymru developing services in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot in 1994, as an all Wales Manager of Services in 1998 before becoming Chief Executive Director in Denise has been at the forefront of the development of Parent Partnership Services in Wales and UK, actively promoting the participation of families and children and young people in planning and decision making processes which affect them, raising awareness to the rights of children and young people, particularly for their voices to be heard and their views considered at all times; giving evidence to Ministerial and Scrutiny reviews and working on task groups with other partners to develop policy and improve practice. Denise s experience includes over 25 years in community/service development, including the development of services for children and young people with severe learning disabilities, siblings and families. Denise is a founder member and chairperson of Local Aid, an organisation based in Swansea. Local Aid received the Queens Award, MBE for voluntary groups in 2010 and SNAP Cymru received the Queens Diamond Jubilee Award for Volunteering in Denise is an experienced Independent Investigator, investigating Complaints relating to Local Authority Social Services for over 20 years. As Chief Executive Director of SNAP Cymru, Denise contributes to a number of Welsh Assembly task and steering groups including: Statutory Reform; Early Support; Transition; Additional Learning Needs. Denise is also a member of the CAFCASS Advisory Group for the Wales Assembly Government Minister for Social Justice.

4 Dr. David Edward Williams (Chairperson) 15 years David Williams is a parent trustee and has been involved with SNAP Cymru for fifteen years. For the past 11 years he has led the organisation as Chairperson of our National Executive Committee. Throughout this time David Williams has given business and managerial guidance to ensure SNAP Cymru s growth and sustainability in a changing social and economic climate. In year 2 of his leadership the business achieved recognition in Wales s top 50 growth per annum businesses. David Williams is an experienced senior management leader with proven ability to inspire, encourage and build confidence in individuals and teams. David is presently Area Director, South for BITC. Stephen Wayne Jones (Finance Director) 13 years Steve Jones joined SNAP Cymru in the early years of its development and has been a Trustee for 13 years. He has worked in local government in a variety of roles for more than 38 years, and in a management or professional role as a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply since He served as a school governor for 10 years, has experience in a management role in other voluntary organisations and continues to serve as Treasurer and Secretary of a local church. In his current role with a large Welsh Local Authority, he is involved in developing new strategies and managing a team responsible for the development and support of key procurement systems. Steve is a strategic thinker with a keen analytical mind who is not afraid of making difficult decisions. As a Trustee Officer of the National Executive Committee management board, Steve also supports the charity as the Finance Director.

5 Dafydd Norris Ifans 3 years Dafydd Ifans is a parent trustee and professionally qualified Social Worker who has held various senior managerial posts within local authorities, for a non-departmental public body and for the Welsh Government. Dafydd is active at senior level supporting the Pennaf Board of Management and the Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, Tŷ Glas, Offa & Tir Tai Boards of Management. Kaye Lowman 4 years Kaye is a parent trustee who has volunteered in a number of roles for many years. Kaye has qualifications and experience in accounting and administration using these skills professionally in the private and not for profit sector. Kaye has been a champion for service users and supported the development of quality management and continuous improvement.
