Another 2 months has flown by us as we re riding and having fun! I would like to take this time to thank all of our members who have been supporting our chapter these past 6 months. We have been very active and look forward to many more rides to come. I would like to welcome our new members and encourage all of you to participate in our events. We have some really great dinner rides and attend all local events to stay active as members of a great riding organization. We love to ride and we love to have fun and look forwarded to meeting with each of you to get to know you better. Thanks for joining our chapter. The HOG BBQ was a blast. Bobby and Robin opened up their home to our chapter to celebrate 17 years as a chapter and we had a great time. Never thought I would see some HOGS ON DA ROCKS but we did. Thanks Bobby and Robin for allowing us to invade your pool and home to celebrate. A thanks also goes to Kaila Our dinner rides have been awesome. No matter where we choose to go, we always have a great time from the Town Pump in Westmoreland to the Texas Roadhouse in Yuma. Good food, good friends and great rides. Thank you Kevin for leading us on some great dinner rides. As you all know, we went up to Williams for the AZ State HOG Rally. We had an amazing time up there! We headed up to Williams with 6 bikes with Danny leading the way. We had another group that headed up the very next day. The weather was great (80 degrees) and the ride was awesome. We had quite a few members who attended this rally. For those who pre-registered, they received a limited edition State Rally Challenge coin. I must also state that the pie, well you had to be there. We went to the Meeting after the rally with our presentation to bring the state rally to Yuma. We presented our proposal, and it went to a vote between Williams and Yuma. WE WON!!! The AZ HOG State Rally is coming to Yuma!!

2 2 Million Mile Monday was changed this year to World Ride which included Sunday and Monday. HOGS worldwide rode 7,799,140 miles in 2 days!! WOW!! I would like to thank all the members who attended this event to show the world that there is nothing better than being a HOG on a HOG!! Way to go! Kevin led a group up to Southern Cal on Sunday and Danny led a group thru Southern Cal on Monday. Kevin, Danny, Thank you for leading everyone who attended. Good Job!! Idylwild ride is coming up soon. Hope everyone has their reservations. July 13, 14, and 15. Thank you everyone for all your support and we look forward to 6 more awesome months as members of the greatest riding organization in the world. GO HOGS!!! Reynold W Jerome III Director HOGs Greetings to everyone, I want to thank you again for another two great months. It s hard to believe that we are in the middle of the year. Time flies when you re having fun. That s what makes this chapter great we have had so much fun all year long. In the last two months we ve had some great dinner rides one going to the town pump steak house in Westmoreland CA, we had an awesome time. We had our HOG Chapter s Birthday party at Bobby and Robins house we had lots of great food Carne Asada, BBQ Chicken, and so many other dishes including a Birthday cake we also had a great time swimming and meeting other Hog members, our sincere thanks again to Bobby and Robin for opening their house for this event. Our state rally in Williams AZ was awesome we volunteered in registration and bike games some of our members participated in the bike show we tour the town and checked out some of the bands we also had some great food specially the homemade banana cream pie. We re excited to bring the Arizona State Rally to Yuma AZ in 2013; we are working on a great program for the rally. Worldwide ride on Sunday was an awesome day Kevin Watson put together a very nice route taking us through the back roads to San Diego and over the Coronado Bridge we had an awesome breakfast we also stop at the San Diego H-D and again we took the back roads to Julian CA. Thanks to all the new members that went with us that day we put over four hundred miles on our bikes. We had a second group that went on Monday I heard they had a great time. I would like to welcome all the new members that have joined our Chapter. I want to encourage you to come out and join us on some dinner rides and other events so that we may get to know you. I m excited for what we are planning for the next few months. Idyllwild run in July, Labor day Show Low run in September and our 3 rd annual Save the Boobies Run in October. 5 5 HEAD ROAD CAPTAIN I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Harley Davidson World Ride. We had lots of fun in cooler weather, good food at the Family House of Pancakes, and pie in Julian on Sunday. The group on Monday also had fun and we racked up some good miles. Since some of us will be riding to cooler climates, here are some tips for cargo carrying Along with maintaining a safe combined weight of rider, passenger, cargo, and accessories, it s important that cargo is carried and attached correctly to avoid handling issues. Here are some guidelines to consider when carrying cargo: Do not attach cargo to handlebars, as this negatively affects front end stability. Do not exceed weight limits of saddlebags, Tour-Pak, luggage rack and, and backrest. Locate cargo low and close the center of the vehicle (close to rider) to minimize changes to the motorcycles center of gravity. Evenly distribute weight of cargo in the left and right saddlebags. Carry heavier items in saddlebags rather than the Tour-Pak to maintain a lower center of gravity. Fasten cargo securely to the vehicle to avoid cargo shifting, which can make the motorcycle unstable. Hello all Can you believe it s July already! That means hot weather and possibly a monsoon or two. We also need to start thinking about upcoming events. Our Boobie Run is an extremely important fundraiser to help treat and possibly find a cure for breast cancer. I know this is a subject that touches so many people in our group and in our community. It has touched me personally. My dear friend lost her 7 year battle to this terrible disease in April. I would love to see every one of our members help to support this noble cause by volunteering their time for this event. Further information will be provided as we near the event Ride Safe. Territorial Run. Saul almost raised $ Club presented him with a plaque and certificate for participation. He won a trip to Hawaii and donated to the 2 nd place winner for his honeymoon. HOT training in San Diego. Reynold spoke about what the officers learned. Showed HOG patch for breast cancer for $5. Sold out! HOG Birthday BBQ at Bobby s house on May 20 th. RSVP to Reynold. Kevin spoke about Day 1 will be in Shiloh at Days Inn and going to dinner at Bobby s house. Day 2 in Globe and Day 3 back home.

10 10 From the Editor Karen Jerome July s Business Meeting has been changed to 12 July due to the 4 th of July holiday. Since the weather is hotter not a lot of rides are going on for the next few months. There are still opportunities to get out and ride so come on out and join us. Please be careful out there and remember to stay hydrated. Thought I would share this picture of one of the Army s finest. It was taken on the H1 in Oahu Hawaii. Enjoy.
