3 Why Feature Dementia Friendly Coalitions in Wisconsin? Coalitions serve as an important foundation of a dementia friendly/dementia capable community. Coalitions can be created in any Wisconsin community regardless of size. Coalition leadership is possible with or without a Dementia Care Specialist. Collective action of a coalition allows for greater impact in building a dementia friendly/dementia capable community.

11 To create a dementia friendly community that is safe, respectful, and welcoming for people living with dementia through awareness, education and community engagement. ( )

13 Purpose: To access the needs as identified by the Marinette County community at large 491 Surveys were returned to the Coalition with representation of every zip code in Marinette County. Survey results supported Coalition goals!

DEMENTIA FRIENDLY BUSINESS TRAINING & EDUCATION Alzheimer s Association Wisconsin Alzheimer s Institute Dementia Care Specialist from other Counties Internet 13 Coalition members are now active trainers! 22 Businesses have been trained by our coalition = over 250 individuals

Committee Structure includes: Grant, Fundraising, Business Training & Education, and Outreach & Awareness

19 Initially the first year we met 2x per month (maybe more.) Now 1x per month, not including committee meetings or Board Meetings. HOW WE ROLL!!! General meetings are 1 hour in duration. Board meetings are ½ hour. President leads the meeting. Secretary completes agenda & minutes. Treasurer and Committee Chairs provide standing reports. Meetings are held at the ADRC.
