2 Natural Disaster Monthly Highlights for June: 01 July to 10 July provinces affected by flood, Landslide, Heavy Rainfall and dry spell 4 natural disaster incidents recorded, reportedly affecting 222 families 47 families (348 individuals) verified in need of humanitarian assistance (NFI, ES and food items) 8 joint rapid assessments conducted by IOM, ANDMA and other partners Weekly Highlights 04 July to 10 July 2018 # of Provinces # of ND incidents Reported # of Joint Assessments Families Individuals Completely Destroyed Severely Damaged Moderately Damaged # of Individuals Deaths # of Individuals Injured # of Verified Families # of Verified Individuals # of Families Assisted by IOM # of Individuals Assisted by IOM , Natural Disasters Update: Bamyan: Reportedly five families were affected by Landslide in Yakowlang district on 07 July. A joint assessment team consisting of IOM and ANDMA conducted assessment on 08 July, no family was found affected by the incident however five families were under direct threat of the landslide. The families already relocated and currently living with host families. The team recommended family tent and emergency shelter kit which will be distributed by ARCS. Ghor: 60 families were reportedly displaced by drought from different villages of Ghor province to Chaghcharan city on 30 June. A joint assessment team consisting of ANDMA, UNICEF and DORR conducted assessment, 40 families were found eligible for humanitarian assistance. UNICEF is committed to distributed NFIs and WFP will cover food needs of the displaced families. Khost: As reported by ANDMA; 24 families affected by heavy rainfall in Tani, Maton and Mandozai districts on 05 July. A joint assessment team consisting of IOM, ANDMA, RRD, DAIL and NEPA conduct assessment on 07 July. 18 families were identified in need of humanitarian assistance. IOM will distribute NFIs, emergency shelter and family tents while food needs of the affected families will be covered by ANDMA. Badakhshan: 150 families were reportedly affected by flood in Daryam district on 05 July. A joint assessment team consisting of IOM, ANDMA and WFP assessed the families on 09 July. The team assess 30 families and found five families eligible for humanitarian assistance while the remaining families are living in the areas controlled by AGEs which is referred to ARCs for assessment and response. ANDMA will cover NFIs and food needs of five affected families. - In a separate incident; 16 families were reportedly affect by flood in Argo district. A joint assessment team consisting of IOM and ANDMA will conduct assessment on 11 July that follow response on the basis of the outcomes of the assessment.

4 Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR): The first round of the community based disaster risk management (CBDRM) training workshop initiated in three communities of Zabul, Khost and Nangarhar provinces. - Khost: The training workshop commenced on 08 July for five days in Ismail Khel Mandozai village. 75 members of the community (40 male and 35 female) including a staff from ANDMA participated in the training. - Nangarhar: The training workshop commenced on 08 July for five days in Lamatak village. 75 members of the community (40 male and 35 female) including a staff from ANDMA participated in the training. 5 Conflict IDPs Update: Nangarhar: DoRR reported displacement of 300 families from various locations. ARCs initiated assessment of the reported displaced families. So far 158 families are found eligible for humanitarian assistance while the assessment of the remaining families is on-going. - In a separate incident reported by DoRR; 50 families were displaced from Deh Bla district currently settled in Rodat district. NRC initiated assessment of reported families and so far no families were found eligible for humanitarian assistance while the assessment is on-going. Laghman: DoRR reported displacement of 139 families from Bad Pakh, Alishang and Mehtarlam districts to Mehterlam center. NRC and IRC will conduct the assessment of the displaced families. Kuner: DoRR reported displacement of 500 families from various location of Chapa dara district to center due to recently clashes between ANSF and Taliban/ISK. A joint assessment team consisting of PU-AMI, WFP, DoRR, ADA, DACCAR, RRD and DG initiated assessment, So far; 18 families found eligible for humanitarian assistance while the assessment is on-going in the remote areas by ARCS.
