Rivera, MD Professor, Pediatrics and Neurology NEEDS Clinical neurology continues to evolve with the advances in science and technology. This activity will provide an update on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of common neurological problems faced by family physicians, internists, and neurologists in daily practice. Where applicable, the faculty will discuss evidence-based clinical practice guidelines/practice parameters to guide clinical decision-making. TARGET AUDIENCE and OBJECTIVES Neurologists, internists, family physicians. At the conclusion of the activity, participants should be able to: Describe appropriate use of antithrombotics in secondary stroke prevention. Discuss current recommendations for evaluation and treatments of status epilepticus. Discuss new and emerging treatment of multiple sclerosis. Evaluate patients with traumatic brain injury and understand potential short-term and long-term consequences in this population. Discuss the approach to the patient with a painful condition affecting the peripheral nervous system. Describe the evolving field of neuro-genomics (neuromics) and how it relates to care of individual patients in a neurology clinic. Evaluate the role of the child and adult neurologist in the evaluation and management of individuals across the lifespan.

The date the request is received by the OCME will be considered the cancellation date. Requests received after the refund deadline will not be processed. Cancellations are subject to a $50 administrative fee deducted from the registration fee paid to cover guarantees and other expenses.
