5 November 5, 2015 The Town of Corte Madera Planning Department will be kicking off the Tamal Vista East Corridor Study with a community workshop on November 18 th from 6:00 8:00pm at the Corte Madera Community Center, 498 Tamalpais Drive. 300 Tamalpais Drive Corte Madera, CA Town Manager Town Council Town Clerk Finance / Bus. License Fire Department Planning / Zoning The workshop will provide attendees with information about the study why we are undertaking it, what the community outreach and study process will look like moving forward, and what we hope to accomplish and an initial opportunity to discuss the current conditions along Tamal Vista Boulevard between Madera Boulevard and Wornum Drive. If you are unable to attend on the 18 th, there will be several additional opportunities to participate and provide input at upcoming outreach meetings and events in December and January, and throughout Additionally, we are developing a Frequently Asked Questions document that will help provide some of the same information we will present at the upcoming meeting. This study will analyze existing development patterns and conditions in order to further understand the development constraints and opportunities along this segment of Tamal Vista Boulevard. This and future outreach efforts will provide the community an opportunity to share ideas and help shape the vision and land use regulations for this area. 7 Alto Tunnel Study Update Results of Right of Way Research to be posted 11/10/15 Background The 2010 Mill Valley to Corte Madera Bicycle and Pedestrian Study (2010 Study) evaluated improvements to three alternative routes between Mill Valley and Corte Madera, including the Horse Hill/ Alto Hill Pathway and connecting roadways, reopening the Alto Tunnel for bike/ped use, and the Camino Alto/Corte Madera Avenue on-street route. Conceptual improvements were evaluated through an inclusive public process. During this process, several additional issues regarding feasibility and cost were identified with the Alto Tunnel route that required further study. In 2013, the County began further evaluating property and right-ofway issues identified in the 2010 Study. This process took longer to complete due to recent changes in the title company industry and the age of some of the originally recorded title documents. The research is complete. A summary will be posted to the project webpage by November 10, We plan an informal public meeting to inform stakeholders specifically interested in this issue on Tuesday November 17, 2015 from 5:30-7:00p Mill Valley Community Center, Mountain View Room, 180 Camino Alto, Mill Valley, CA At this informal meeting, we will: 1. Review the same research information provided on the project website 2.
