Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 15 th... we are looking for vendors and crafters to set up tables during the event. Tables will rent for $20, please contact for any questions. Order forms will be available in the front office or can be ed directly to you. ACTIVITY AND SPORTS PHOTOS Parents and students can order your club, activity and sports group photos by right clicking on the link below to order their photos from GRADS Photography. View and Purchase Clubs & Groups HMS PTSA PTSA is hosting a Fun Run on February 2! This is an opportunity for students to have a blast while earning much needed funds for our school. PTSA is also having a restaurant night next week. See the flyer below. The registration will be open until Thursday and the event will be Friday Please follow this link to register your child. You will enter falcons in the student access code box. 3 FINAL DAY Hillcrest Middle School Dear Parents, Prizes Today is the start of our biggest fundraiser of the year Ultra School Events. Like a Jog-A-Thon students collect donations to help our school earn money. However it is completely different. Instead of running laps, our kids earn a memorable day of Wipeout Interactive Inflatables based on the hit show along with earning cash and prizes and chilling with Kona Ice! STEP 1 4 SIMPLE STEPS TO SUCCESS! Get on the Internet Go to the website. On the website s top right, enter the school Student Access Code: 1 Falcons and select GO. Register Online Special Prizes for Registering and sending Donation

We work together all year long to find ways to connect to our community. We have many opportunities for you to offer your support through partnerships, advertising, and the donation of supplies or cash. Please contact Denise Parrino with any questions or to see how you can join in to connect our community with education and don t forget to link your FRY s card to Hillcrest! Cafeteria Manager: Renee Flagler Contact: renee.flagler@dvusd.org CAFETERIA Falcon Café: Attention students: Remember to be considerate and pick up your trash for the later lunches so they too can enjoy a clean dining area. Thank you. An urgent message to parents from the cafeteria, Because of a new policy Food service implemented, we can no longer communicate with your students concerning the balance of their lunch accounts. Unfortunately this has created some very high negatives because we feed our students no matter what their balance. EZSchoolpay is available on the district website and costs nothing to create an account, which allows you to track what your students are spending and to set a low balance alert on your . Some of you have communicated your having trouble creating accounts. Here are a couple of tips to help if you re having trouble. 1. Make sure your using the same name you registered your student under. For instance if they are a Jr. or the I, II, or III, or a hyphenated name then you must use that when you go to find your child in the system. 2. Check to make sure you have the right account number. 3. Call your cafeteria manager and he or she can help you by getting in contact with our EZSchoolpay specialist. 4. You can EZSchoolpay and they will answer your questions as soon as possible

7 FALCON ATHLETICS Hillcrest Athletic Coordinator: Shad Greaves Contact: Hillcrest s 7th grade athletics are a member of the North Valley Middle Level conference. 8th grade athletics are a member of the Deer Valley K8 Conference. The sports offered at Hillcrest are as follows: Fall Sports Winter Sports Spring Sports Volleyball (B/G) Basketball (B/G) Baseball Cross Country * Wrestling * Softball Spiritline Track* *No Cut (Participation may be limited) Approved Athletic Fees 7 th /8 th grade athlete: $60 per sport ($120 maximum per athlete) Family: $300 maximum per family/household* *A family or family household is defined by the United States Census Bureau for statistical purposes as a householder and one or more other people related to the householder by birth, marriage, or adoption Middle School Athletic Event Admission Prices Adults..$3.00 All DVUSD students with school ID FREE Family Pass (10 Punches)..$20.00 Nurse: Ellen Momeyer Contact: ellen.momeyer@dvusd.org FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE If your student has food allergies and eats cafeteria food, DVUSD has a new form "Physician Request for Special Diet Accommodations" which must be completed and signed by the student's Physician. Please have your student obtain the form from the Health Office at Hillcrest. If you have questions, please contact Nona Dasenbrock (Food and Nutrition Coordinator) at phone # or nutrition@dvusd.org. Use of crutches on campus requires a note from the student's Physician and the school does not supply any medical equipment.

8 The only medications that students can carry on them are: Epi pens and inhalers with a form from the Health Office which parents and the RN sign. Per DVUSD policy, the nurse cannot administer any medicine (including lotions and cough drops) unless parents/guardian supply the medicine to the Health Office in the original container with a signed medication instruction form.
