I attended the Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday evening and observed the Public Hearing on the Restoration Hardware (RH) project. At the conclusion of the meeting, after thoroughly reviewing and discussing input received from the public, Town staff, Macerich and RH, the Planning Commission voted 5-0 to recommend the project to the Town Council for further consideration and approval. I wanted to let the community know that I am proud of the manner in which the project review process has been carried out; going back to late 2015 when public discussions regarding the lease of the gravel lot first began, through numerous public meetings, an informative and frequently updated project information webpage, public outreach via multiple platforms and open communication between the public, the project applicants and planning staff. I am particularly impressed with several aspects of this process as I have observed it: the thoughtful input received from the community regarding the size of the project, the location, the design and parking; how RH and Macerich synthesized the feedback they have received throughout the process and adapted their proposal to address those concerns; and finally, with the Planning Commission s thorough consideration and discussion of the input they received from both the public and the applicants. On all sides, I feel that this has been an open and transparent process to date. The next step will be a Public Hearing at the December 5 Town Council meeting. I encourage you to continue to stay involved and make your voices heard. To that end, public comment regarding this project can be sent to Senior Planner Phil Boyle at pboyle@tcmmail.org or you can call the Planning Department at with any questions regarding this project. An archive of information related to this project can be found here. If you wish to watch the video recording of the Public Hearing held on November 14th, please click here. I look forward to having you all back on December 5th. Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Sincerely, Todd Cusimano Town Manager 300 Tamalpais Drive, Corte Madera, CA Corte Madera Chronicles 1

Classes are held from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. CPA is free and open to adults age 18 and over who live or work in Larkspur, Corte Madera, or San Anselmo. CPA offers community members an inside look at law enforcement and the opportunity to gain a better understanding of their police department. The course is designed to provide an overview of the agency s function and operational procedures. In the weekly presentations by department personnel, students are introduced to a wide range of topics and learn about various areas of police work, including CSI, Detectives, Special Response Team, DUI investigation, and much more. Other highlights include a ridealong with a patrol officer and full tours of both our police stations, as well as the Marin County Sheriff s Communications Center. For more information, see the class flyer and the application form on our website at Class size is limited so applications should be submitted as soon as possible. Movember is Men s Health Month Last month Central Marin Police officers proudly wore pink shoulder patches in support of breast cancer awareness and treatment. This month the focus is on men s health issues and officers will be wearing a blue ribbon and some additional This year for the first time, Central Marin Police Authority is participating in Movember, also known as No Shave November. Movember is an annual international campaign with the goal of changing the face of men s health. Movember promotes growing facial hair in order to raise awareness and bring a focus to men s health issues, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men s mental health and suicide prevention. CMPA s designated charity for the Movember fund raiser is the Marin Prostate Cancer Information and Support Group. This not-for-profit group just marked its 25th year and has supported over 1400 men as they go through diagnosis and treatment. The group meets every week, ensuring that no man will have to wait more than seven days to receive support and information at one of the most challenging times in his life. The meetings are held at Marin General Hospital and have 20 to 30 men at every session. The group also does education and outreach, promoting awareness and providing resources and literature at events such as senior fairs and fundraising walks. The public is invited to join us in supporting the Movember cause. Donations of any amount are welcome and 100% of all funds collected will go directly to Marin Prostate Cancer Information & Support Group. Donations can be made by cash or check and dropped off at either of our stations. Checks should be payable to Central Marin Police Officers Association with Movember noted.
